Another very late meal, but hopefully that'll be coming to an end this week. It was still good though. I made some (vegan friendly) seaweed wraps (I don't feel comfortable calling it sushi 😂) and they were good. I'm getting better at it and the taste of seaweed is growing on me. Plus, I get to improve my chopstick skills.

Did a whole lot of cleaning today, because it was necessary. I thought about skipping out on today's upper body strength training, because of the housework. But I managed to push myself to do it. Arms are feeling like jelly, though.

Tomorrow is the official weigh in day. I was going to do it on Friday, but I'm going out with some people tomorrow. I've got a plan in place to stay eating clean but just in case I slip up, I'd like to have the correct results reflected 😁. Fingers crossed for a good result!!

I hope everyone is having a great week so far. Stay strong!!

Finished my second Parkrun today, and slashed about 4 minutes off my PB. Granted, it wasn't great to begin with (because... running, ugh!), but 4 minutes is impressive. While I'm no fan of running, I do need more cardio in my workout regimen, so I'm hoping to fit in a 5km run once a week (whether a Parkrun or on the treadmill). We'll see how well that goes 😂.

I did an unofficial weigh in yesterday to check progress, and I'm pretty much back where I was at the beginning of the month. After last week's shark week increase, that is a relief. Also, while it probably means I won't lose anything this month, it also means I haven't gained anything. With my increased carb intake this month, this is a good thing! It means I can carefully add more carb-heavy foods to my diet without worrying about fat gain. By carbs, I mainly mean beans, legumes, sweet potatoes, and extra fruits, and bread once a month (literally). Still no pasta or rice.

I'll continue to monitor my progress weekly next month, until I'm happy that there are no significant spikes. Still hoping to get down to a size 36 (jeans) by the end of March, but it's going to mean a lot of hard work, because it feels like there hasn't been much change this month 😔.

Anyway, have a fabulous weekend everyone!

19 February 2019

I've been feeling heavy the last few days, even though I haven't changed anything in terms of food intake. Though, on Saturday, I ate a whole lot of bread, more than I intended, probably about half a loaf of sourdough rye bread. I felt bad for about 2 seconds, then got over it, because it was so good 😋. Bread is my kryptonite, to be honest.

Anyway, I'm back in swing of things in terms of diet and exercise, but still feel "heavy". Hopefully, it's just water or bloating or whatever. Will check this Friday to see where I'm at.

Ate very late today, because I was prepping tomorrow's lunch boxes. I've been eating a lot later than usual the last 2 weeks, and I hope it hasn't affected my fat loss negatively. 😔 I really don't think I can deal with a set back at the moment.

Hope everyone is having a good week so far!

Jumped on the scale this morning (for my check in) and nearly had a heart attack. I was about 3kgs heavier than last week😭. But it is Shark Week, so I'm almost certain that most of it is water retention. Though, because of load shedding, my meals haven't been as consistent as I like to keep them. Been eating later than planned and for longer. I also haven't been working out the way I wanted to. Hopefully, it doesn't come back to bite me in the back.

I want to try and get back into my routine again, load shedding or not.

Today's meal was pretty straight forward, had dried fruit for 'dessert', which I usually try to avoid because of the concentrated sugars in them, but I'm going on a long hike tomorrow, so I think I can do a bit of carbing up.

Overall, this has not been a great week (it hasn't been bad either) but I have just under 2 weeks to make up for it! 💪

Hope everyone has an awesome weekend!!
