I feel like I'm losing my mind... Dunno what's going on, but my weight is solidly standing still!! It's driving me nuts!! Maybe my body is used to 24 hour fasts now, so I thought I might mix it up a bit tonight, by skipping dinner & only eating again after 48 hours... BBO, if you can give me some tips, it'd be greatly appreciated. I also thought about decreasing my calories drastically if & when I eat, but then that feels too much like a diet!!

Hang in there. It will come down eventually. I've been fluctuating within one kg for nearly 6 weeks now and I just can't seem to get the scale to budge.

Urgh... It's the worst though!! Don't think I've ever hit a plateau in my life before!!

Various things can cause your weight to plateau but as long as you keep at it, your body will still be losing fat even if the scale makes you think otherwise. Before you do 48 hour fasts, perhaps have a look at what you consume on a non-fast day. Reduce calories on those days so that you consume around 75% of your RDI. I'm not sure if your Food Diary is 100% tracking everything you eat in a day so I cant really look for a reason there. You could be getting more lean which can cause a gain in weight due to muscle mass increasing. Try keeping 3 days in your weeks to under 500 calories.

Cool, thanx!! BTW, I don't have non-fast days. Every day, except weekends, I only eat dinner. But maybe I should start mixing it up a bit. I normally log everything I eat. But I could be stricter with what I put in my mouth.

Leksie maybe it's time to restrict calories to under 500 calories for 3 days in a week. Give it a try and see if it works. Also, eating too less food overall can also cause weight loss to slow down. So alternate it with a 500 calorie maximum day followed by a 20% less than RDI day and see if that helps.

Thanx BBO... I will try that!

Hi Leksie, only eating dinner puts your body into starvation mode so your body will actually store more fat. Your better off eating 3 meals a day and just increasing your aerobic exercise.

Carmen if that was true I wouldn't have lost over 35kg by doing no food fasting on Mon, Wed and Fri which add up to 40 hours of not eating food. Starvation mode is not true and your body won't eat your muscle when you fast.

40 hours meaning no food from 8pm sunday night to midday on Tuesday and repeating that 3 times a week so its 40 hours x 3 per week.

Hi i just want to let you know when your weight get stuck in the scale it normally means your body is reddy for a longer work out and that you are not pushing your body hard enough. What works well for me is i start 10 minute slow and then go 10 minutes realy fast on cycling bike to get my heart rate in fat burning mode then I go 5 minutes slow to recover and 10 minutes fast again. If you do weight training start adding to it. I have learned that i lose more weight by doing weights 3 times a week.

Thanx, I do crossfit 3 x a week, and our coaches always mixes it up. But as for weight training, you might be right. I will definitely go a bit heavier!!
