I know exactly how you feel... story of my life... but I do it anyway, everyday it has almost become an obsession or addiction to me...

I'm right with you there and I've only been on this lifestyle for 2.5 months. I take it one day at a time. I've packed the scale away until next year and I'm focusing on being present with my loved ones. If you see something you just have to eat, wait 15 minutes and see if you still want it. Then enjoy it in moderation. Try walking exercises if you can't do a full workout. I don't believe in cheat days, makes it seems like I'm commiting a crime. When we take away these labels it can ease some of the mental burden and guilt we place on ourselves. Happy Holidays, hope you have a blessed one.

I had a long 8 month break due to this but I have made it a lifestyle now and with calorie cycling i have been feeling so much better. some days I eat a lot more calories than on others and losing is still possible then. I also buy a lot of ready made meals which help me then I dont need to count as often

Give yourself some grace over the festive period. Enjoy it, but don’t go crazy. January is always a good time to set goals. Intermittent fasting is very effective- if it works for you. Once you hit you goal weight and stabilise, maintaining your weight shouldn’t be a hard slog.

I do Intermittent fasting almost every day, exercise every single day (it's become an obsession for me too) try to eat as healthy as possible, I have made it a lifestyle, I reached my goal weight a while back but it's extremely exhausting trying to constantly maintain, I'm utterly burnt out, glad to know I'm not the only one 😕 I think I just need to take a break from it all to get my mind right again but so afraid I'm going to mess up all my progress, it's a lot easier to eat those calories than burn them lol. Strongs to everyone! It really isn't easy to keep on doing this day in and day out even if it is a lifestyle...

i feel you. I got so sad. and others don't really understand. Also been on this journey for almost two years now and gained a few kgs the past few weeks because i basically refused to exercise. I just wanted to give myself a break. But the weight makes me feel more miserable and I hate that i don't look as skinny as i did a few months ago. Being disciplined is much more worth it. The rewards are more fulfilling. So i'm back at the drawing board.

I am feeling exactly the same way, they say loosing the weight is difficult, but honestly keeping it off is harder. I myself get obsessed with this and it is taking a strain on my mental health

I used to exercise to a crazy level, I was cycling 6-7 days a week, running 4-5 days a week and gym 5 days. That was when I had first got extremely overweight and I'd started dieting, cycling and added adventure racing into the mix. I weighed 58kg when I had. bad cycling crash in 2007. I gained a fair amount during that recovery and dieted to drop most of it, before health issues interfered again, putting an end to all physical activity for a while. The past few years work added to weight gain. 3 months into my current journey I am *not* dieting. I count calories and if I go over one day I stay under for 2. I'm not going to gym either. I walk 5-7km in the mornings, don't push too much (to avoid health related flare ups) and think this will stick. If you are feeling burned out from exercise, you are overdoing it. Take a 2-3 day break and then start again at 50% of what you are currently doing. Do not go over 75% of current level for at least a month

I think it's important to remember that what you weigh and what you look like now won't matter, in 5 or 10 years, or looking back on your life, but the relationships you had will. And when we are obsessing over these things we are negatively impacting our own moods, our happiness and our relationships. Ultimately we are here to make a positive impact and your size/weight has nothing to do with that :-) take care!

No! Do as I'm planning to do. Walk every day to a fruit and vegetable shop, buy one or two of it there, and walk back. That's great exercise, plus you have a goal, and there's so many things one can do with fresh fruit and vegetables. You'll never have to worry about weight or health problems when you eat healthy and get exercise daily. All you need is a recipe book containing health recipes, for smoothies and stuff, and no artificial junk in the recipes. I'm increasingly doing that, and it works. How many shops selling fresh fruit and vegetables are in a 5 km radius from you? Walk or cycle each day to another one. Back when everyone was fit and slim and healthy (the days when our grandparents had to climb over a mountain to get to school) they followed this basics.

All of u are so amazing♥️ what a great support group. We all fall and we all come back eventually. Thank u everyone for the great advice. Maybe I/we are abit to hard on ourselves sometimes, a break is definitely needed every now and then without a feeling of guilt. I am going to take a bit of a break and just try and stick to basics. I hope everyone has a great festive season and if u need that break, I hope you take it too and come back even stronger 💪😊

I must thank all of you for being so honest on this group ... I too have such anxiety some days about what/where/how/when to eat and exercise over the d festive season after being so "controlled" for the last 9 months .. 🤪. my strategy is to put yesterday's full on overeat session behind me and try my best to get back on track today ... better to tomorrow and even better the next day....

I feel you Kelly. It is energy consuming to keep making the decisions to stay healthy. It's a huge energy & financial investment to stay healthy. For me the goal is self love & care. I think that the guilt you feel might be because you care? on the flip side you should enjoy your life because you have been working hard. I can't say that I find it easy either because I'm in the same boat as you, I work hard, I gym hard, I eat strategically & I don't give myself a rest, I'm not sure what to do either.

Try planning your meals and buy whatever fresh fruit and veg you need for the week. It really helps. If you feel like a burger make sure u have patties in your freezer. Make them but leave the bun. Add some veg or salad and you won't feel so bad. It's really hard to eat healthy but you have this
