Confession session

Lockdown April - June 2020 I picked up 20kg in 3 months due to severe stress at work and personal stress from being alone in lockdown. I'm so embarrassed as other people pick up like 5kg. I had to go for gold 😱

I have been able to keep my kilograms stable from June to Oct but now I shifted my thinking.
I`m back on my dieticians meal plan of 1200 cal a day. One week in and going good so far.

I understand how you feel (at least I think I do) I started the year of with so much motivation, and dropped 16kg from January to April, and somewhere lockdown fatigue caught up with me, and it actually hurts to admit but I gained back 9kg of what I lost (I'm not very tall so 16kg was a lot to lose, and 9kg was a lot to gain back). You can do it though, since mid September I have thankfully lost 5kg, so that puts me at 12kg for the year so far, and I hope I am not being too ridiculous, but I am aiming for 72kg by end of December (that would be 20kg over 12 months), and then I would like to work on the remaining 12kg I want to lose over the next 12 months - overall my goal is 60kg by end of next year, 32kg over 24 months, which seems forever. It felt so much easier earlier this year, I really don't know what happened, but everyday is another opportunity to start over and you absolutely can do this 💪

great job, it doesn't matter how many times you fall off the horse but how many times you get back on

Hey, I can imagen how bad this feeling is but I can say, I personally gained due to stress always weight before Corona. Ones I noticed, I decided to get back control and said to myself: "dear body, dear mind thanks for letting me know how stressful my life is, but eating is not the solution, I want to be pleasent for what I eat and not a pig forgetting about the joy of eating". I suffered a lot with bing eating and I can say, stressful times make us much stronger and help us to find a good way of balancing our body. Don't be sad, it is ok to start over and over again. Never give up :). Stressful times give us the chance to build a strong mind. Be pleasent to you. :)

Hectic, i gained 12 kilos in lockdown. But i ate to gain that 12. You can lose all you have gained. I'm currently weighing less than before lockdown. Keep it up, you've got this👍

You are not the only one I can relate to weight gain. I have to loose too. You will make it. Take it day by day.

Be positive, you have taken first positive step...you can do it. Don't get derailed by a small setback - keeping looking forward.

I am on the pill thanks to being Pre-Menopausal and it's flippen frustrating. I exercise 3 to 5 times a week and I watch what I eat 5.5 days of the week, and even on my "off eating plan" days, I'll be careful. Cms are dropping at a snails pace on my thighs but that doesn't help my pants close 🙄🙄🙄. Any advice on cm loss while on the pill? I'm 7 kgs from my goal weight..... but I've been trying to lose this since March. Ready to throw in the towel at this stage.

Hey just some advice regarding the pill. The weight is often caused by higher water retention. What can help is to eat dehydrating food and drink a lot water. Check for potassium rich foods, drink apple vinegar, and tea (nettle, peppermint, green tea). Also try to shower cold, cold water causes the blood vessels to contract.

You are not alone! The stress caused my anti-depressants to stop working and as a result I had to switch to different ones that destroyed 2 years of hard work in just 5 months. I am with you on the 20kg but also decided to go back to what works...

i also put on 20kg in fact more. i am 1.7 and was weighing 58. i was fit n slender. lockdown sent me into a depression n i was just really binging!! none of my clothes fit. but after a period of denial i have decided to do what i know and stop using food to numb myself!!!

It is not normal for us to be restricted or not able to socialise as we want to. Weirdly I loved being at home but because I was restricted I hated it and also picked up weight. The first win is that you know why and what to do. It is a new day, a new month and you can definately do this. One step at a time, one meal at a time.
