Capie2's Journal, 28 Jul 23

So my last weigh in was 87.3kg coming from 125kg. My present BMI is 27.24 coming from 39! I say it's easy but it is difficult.

My experience or what worked for me:

1. Your mind must be conditioned and in the right place / space
2. You have to stick to your rules / eating plan no matter what
3. Getting closer to your goal weight you will lose less or slower
4. When this happens do not lose motivation ... JUST KEEP GOING! It will happen!
5. You are not a baby .. Don't cry! You want this? Then keep going ..
6. Nothing in life is for free or easy ... reaching your goal comes with sacrifice.
7. A craving only lasts 20mins max ... ride it out!
8. We are all individuals with different preferences. What works for me is not necessarily going to work for you and vice versa .. Find your rhythm!

I have set my goal on 80kg. That means my BMI will be 24.97. This will probably only be an interim goal and will probably adjust to 75kg and then my maintenance journey starts which is or will be new territory for me ...

This app and fellow weight losing community is amazing ... !!

This was my rant before the weekend ... Have an amazing weekend all!!

I would add a no.8 “getting back on track after a binge is hard, taking the decision not to binge in the first place is hard, choose your hard”

Thanks for the insight on your journey Capie2. I'm finding that I'm going through mine mostly as you pointed out. Can’t wait to reach my 80kg again. Yup round 2 for me too. Also thanks Komcpt's for your perspective. Choose your hard!

@Komcpt .. absolutely! I must admit I do not do binge eating and find it very difficult to get into my eating routine the next day after e.g. a planned cheat day. I would reward myself with a cheating day after reaching an interrim goal. I also think doing this is very difficult coming from being obese, like I was. It is so hard, so many obstacles and your end goal looks like it is a lifetime away and the very reason to be hard on yourself .. in my case anyway ... I do not give in to cravings. I believe a craving only lasts for 20 minutes max. Drink water ... distract your mind by reading a book, watch a movie, take a nap, browse the internet or go for a walk! Yes I am retired so ... lol

What an awesome post! Thank you for that.... I do, however, get cravings for something for months and months. So I do satisfy them every now and then.

Also, don't get into a food emergency. Know what you'll be eating before you eat it.
