Nikina70's Journal, 28 Sep 20

Just an update for myself. Last week I was aiming for 1750 average calories and ended on just over 1860. It's still under maintenance calories so that's fine although not ideal. So, looking at the last 4 weeks I have Exercise at 1875 and Food at 1780, which I think is fine as well - and I've gotten my daily Protein to 60.95g for those 4 weeks so I'm happy about that.

I'm going to take a break now for the rest of the week. Won't track, but will do some exercise, just felt a bit sore still today. I did a 50min leg and 30 min upper body workout with Sydney Cummings on YouTube on Saturday and it felt great! Also included some push-ups, which I felt a bit improved on, which is good. So that took my exercise to 170 minutes total for the 4 weeks.

I'll start tracking calories again next Monday and then aim to track that 4 weeks before my next break. I'll try to be mindful, but just want a break from weighing everything and hopefully I'll be ready to try to get to the sweet spot of 1680 average daily calories again to get my weight down a bit more before summer arrives. With the warmer weather it's also much easier to workout than in winter (at least for me) so should be able to increase that too. I'll take my measurements next Monday as well so that will give me an idea if I'm on track or not. So far I still feel fine in my clothes, but measurements don't lie.

You’re doing so awesome, Nikina! Congrats on the push-ups, I’m happy you’re making progress with them! And your numbers look almost identical to mine, except I eat double the protein. So funny that you’re talking about summer coming soon and I’m in the process of taking all my fall and winter jackets out on this side of the world. I hope you have a great week and achieve the results you want from all your efforts. 💖

Mermee, I would like to increase my protein as well, but finding it hard being vegetarian and not wanting to have too much protein powder per day for budget reasons. Once we're finally through with our move and settled in I will get some heavier dumbbells and work on increasing my protein then. For now I'm just glad I've got it a bit higher than before. You and Petra#56, amongst a few other ladies here on FS, are my heroes as far as exercise and consistency goes so I'm hoping to reach some goals eventually too and your support is always so wonderful! Thank you!!! 💕

Nikina, Chris is right and you can trust that he knows what he’s talking about. I can tell you my own experience with going from veggie to eating turkey and chicken again. It was one of the best decisions I’ve made health-wise since last year (not even talking about weight).

Chrisw77 and NNWD - thanks for your concern and advice guys! I do appreciate it and I'm sorry I'm only replying a whole week later - Chris I hope this doesn't count as strike three for my late commenting (Face Palm emoji here). I haven't eaten meat for 2 years now and don't think I want to go back, but I hear what you're saying. I really do need to up my protein intake - I think at least to 75g for starters so I'll work on that. I am eating more eggs lately and still have some dairy so will see how I manage with that until the end of the year. Hope you both have a great weekend!

We can't all be as good as you are at updating your bio, Chris, but I think I'll wait until I reach my final destination in the new year. When I can get my new weights and yoga mat and set my next goals properly.
