Grow sprouts and snack on those instead. Just a suggestion - cut out your processed food :) Snack on fresh carrots too - those are delicious or raw cabbage leaves :)

Darl, maybe carrots i can do and maybe sprouts (if there is a delicious way of preparing them that you can tell me of), and even cabbage leaves (with a dash of mayo maybe)but thanks darl for your suggestions, i will be sure as to try them out

Sweetpea, I'm the worlds worst food preparer and just sprout the sprouts and eat them like peanuts - don't need anything on them as they are just delicious as is. Mayo is delicious on the lips but S*&* on the hips :) Good luck

Snack on peanuts and biltong. It's more satisfying compared to chips. Work out an allowable portion per day.

What's the reason for snacking on chips

First find out why you can't say no to the chips might be a missing nutrient or an emotional connection.

Get some Smartbite veggie crisps and soya crisps from Clicks. They are under 100 calories per pack and it is not expensive (around R5 per pack) - if you buy 3 you only pay for 2. It tastes a lot like chips and might help.

Hi...I agree with Linda. The Smartbite veggie crisps from clicks are a winner and give the same satisfaction that a usual bag of chips gives with less calories (and good price). I would recommend that as well :) Good Luck

I struggle with the same thing. I blackout when it comes to Lays and find myself devouring a whole big packet by myself... What I've tried to go for Instead are veggie crisps. They're mixed so you get sweet potato and beetroot I think and they're actually delicious. They've helped me make a smarter snacking choice but sometimes I just can't get away from the processed ones.

The ideal is to break the habit of eating between meals if you can. I know, easier said than done. If I do have to snack, I avoid carb based snacks and rather go for something like biltong or olives. This leaves me fuller for longer and less inclined to crave the bad stuff. Wishing you all the best x

Eat some popcorn! Lightly salted or unsalted. Just stay away from all chips! Just read the kj at the back .

If you're really struggling, keep some celery or cucumber chunks in the fridge at work - work is where people tempt you the most I find!

All good advice! I have taken to buying small 25g packets of Fritos if I really feel like chips on the weekend then it's not a whole big bag to tempt, but I'm keen to try the Clicks ones now.
