9 days of holiday and this happens! Didn't even know this was humanly possible. Did 20 000 steps daily and I did 2 x 7km runs! I'm not that suprised because I ate to my hearts content. Felt like if I didn't squeeze as much food in these 9 days as possible I'd never be able to eat again! I was on holiday so Yolo but I feel terrible! I hope that once I'm back in my routine I'll drop the first 2kgs easy, just worried I won't be able to make it back all the way to my normal weight. What I have realized is how obsessed I am with food though, I don't have a ridiculously restrictive diet so not like this has been my first opportunity to eat nice things in ages but all I wanted to do was eat. I was just never full! Always thinking about my next meal. Does anyone else feel this way sometimes? Not sure if I'm just a food monster or it's because of my weight loss I've become more obsessed.

Yup, this is pretty much me summed up when I eat the wrong kinds of foods. Processed and carb heavy foods make me eat them addictively and I'm just always looking for the next thing to eat. The only thing that is helping now is eating low carb/carnivore and working through my feelings that cause me to reach for the wrong comfort foods. Good luck on your journey - I know it's not easy 🤍

I can easily gain 2,5 to 3kg in 1 weekend 🤦🏻‍♀️. If I gain weight that quickly, I normally loose it quickly also. If I put my mind to it I can be back to normal weight by that Thursday, so 3 days and I normally have lost that weight already.

you'll be surprised how much of it is water retention... Juno back to your plan, smile knowing you had a wonderful holiday and made great memories... and drink extra water... you'll be back on track in no time.

oh. and the food monster.... I feel you on that. it's a real thing. if I switch myself off from being mindful about what I put in my mouth, I can literally shovel it in all day. binge eating and secret eating are monsters that I have to be constantly aware of and monitor because I do have disordered eating patterns due to growing up in a house with intense food related issues on all sides of the spectrum... it doesn't leave you... but you can learn to live with it

Water retention!! It sucks but take comfort that is close to impossible to pick up 3.8kg in fat over that time period - I did some research and a. Every 1g of carbs attracts 3g of water and b. I did a quick calculation and you would have needed to eat 30,000 calories *over* your budget - so that is 3250 calories per day OVER your normal limit ❤️

I agree, weight gained quickly over a weekend can be shed in a few days. By way of an example, in the last 3 months, I have lost on average 1.2 kgs per week, except twice when I gained weight after a binge weekend. Within days, I had lost all the gained weight and by the end of the week, lost more than my weekly average. I say, allow for a binge now and then. I think it's necessary, but jump on it quickly, guilt free, and get right back to the healthy lifestyle. I find I crave for raw veggies after a binge, especially raw carrots 🥕 😋.

@WaistAway I love your ability to math this for us! Everyone needs a friend who understands numbers 😂

@Shereen 🤣🤣🤣 thank you. It helps me to approach things like this as clinically as possible - if I do x and y these will be the results, and yes each body might be different because maybe my metabolism is slower or faster than the next 35 year old female of 163cm height who has two kids (lol), but then the decisions I make are less emotional and more based on facts.

This weekend was like an endless pit. I also ate like a piggy Saturday and Sunday. The rest was ok. When you have the cravings...

No holidays makes you want to nibble on everything especially if you drink in between. I lost the first 2kg very quickly when we got back.
