I'm feeling a bit depressed. The weightloss feels very slow. I don't cheat and watch my portion controls and fat:protein:carb ration. Yet the battle to loose is getting to me.

I miss the comfort that carbs gave me. Now, I dont have anywhere to turn if I need some self-love. I now that self-love comes from within and that I deserve it. But I'm currently in a very lonely space and my support structure is more of a liability than an asset to support me.

I know what you feeling this phase will pass , I can hear that you've not given up and you are still strong . Keep at it , you can do it even without that 'support ' system .

Not nice to feel depressed. Are you following LCHF? You may need to make some fatbombs or lemon merinque, or brownies (LCHF way) and have a small serving daily to help you through this bad time. When you are "allowed" to have these you probably won't have the "cravings". Also, make sure that you have enough fat on this way of eating. It is helping me. Nuts and dairy stall weight loss for some people, so watch out for those. You can do it because you don't cheat!

You can still lose weight/fat by eating carbs. It all depends on the method of weight/fat loss you choose to follow. Read up on the 5:2 Fast Diet on www.thefastdiet.co.uk and read my journal. Many of us have adopted a fasting lifestyle that allows us to eat carbs like fruit, veggies and junkfood like burgers, cakes, pizza, pasta, etc. and still achieve weight loss.

Interesting about the fasting. I will read the WOE as well. I miss my fruit!

I'm with BBO above - I cheat every weekend but try and do 2-3 "fast" days in the week (skipping breakfast, eating lots of fats at lunch and dinner like boiled eggs, avo, nuts, olives, double cream unflavoured yoghurt and eating REAL, unprocessed food. Life's too short to never celebrate!

You're lucky that you can eat carbs. I certainly have a problem with them because a small bit leads to a whole lot more. That is why I'm following the low carb high fat protocol.

ingbee you can allow yourself the carbs on weekends if you incorporate fast days into your week. In fact you can eat carbs all week if you want to. Read my journal. I experimented alot and updated my journal about it. You will thank me later :D

If you are craving carbs and by carbs i mean any form of it, it is probably because your body needs it. if you go too long without carbs, you will inevitably start craving carbs and give in to the intense cravings and land up binging. no one should ever tell you that you can eat an apple because it is a carb. You can lose fat while still eating carbs. You can lose fat while eating anything you want, without fasting or doing anything drastic. As long as you are in a calorie deficit and being 100% honest with yourself about cheating you will lose weight. Your approach to weightlifting vs cardio will determine if you lose fat or fat, muscle, glycogen and water which is what i call weight loss. The goal should be to lose fat, not weight. just my two cents :)

Whatever approach you decide to take, just dont make it too strict as the more strict you make your approach to fat loss the more likely it is that you will fail. Too be honest, it wouldn't be you that failed it would be the approach that failed you!

weight loss is a journey that starts from inside out , when you wake up in the morning what comes in your mind ? , the battle is in your mind , in the mind thats were thoughts and ideas are resting , do you see yourself winning this battle we are all dealing with ,do you have a picture of who you will become? do you know of the benefit of a smaller waist ,l say hold on to that picture to those thoughts , wake up every morning and SHOUT " I AM STRONGER THAN YESTERDAY , I CAN DO ALL THINGS " when you feel like grabing what you call your comfort food think it this way who is greater that brownie or YOU? you are dear so welldone the first step has been done already you started the journey and l can see you at the finishing line the question is DO YOU?
