Big Boy Optimus's Journal, 31 Mar 16

This is my reboot plan after my Easter indulging.

7 Day Carb Depletion - I will keep my Carbs to under 30g per day(on non-fast days). I'll try to have a workout at the gym 3 days out of the 7 days.

My 1st week is as follows :

Thurs - Stay under my RDI, keep carbs under 30g

Fri - Fast Day (23 calories max)

Sat - Stay under my RDI, keep carbs under 30g

Sun - Stay under my RDI, keep carbs under 30g

Mon - Fast Day (23 calories max) + Gym Workout

Tues - Stay under my RDI, keep carbs under 30g + Gym Workout

Wed - Fast Day (23 calories max)

My second week will incorporate carb cycling as follows :

Thurs - Stay under my RDI, keep carbs under 150g

Fri - Fast Day (23 calories max)

Sat - Stay under my RDI, keep carbs around 500g

Sun - Stay under my RDI, keep carbs around 300g

Mon - Fast Day (23 calories max)

Tues - Stay under my RDI, keep carbs under 30g

Wed - Fast Day (23 calories max)

This may not be the proper protocol of carb cycling but I'm trying to use its principles in conjunction with 4:3 and 16:8 to benefit me. It doesn't seem that far off from what I was already doing except that previously I was allowing myself to eat over my RDI on Thursdays and weekends.

One of the rules in carb cycling is to do my heaviest workout on my highest carb day but this wont be possible for me as I don't workout on the weekend. The other rule is to eat low fat on high carb days and I think I can manage that but weekends are sort of cheat days for me so I will just adjust accordingly.

This is a personal experiment and I'm sharing my experience as I go about it so please don't blame me if you try it and it doesn't work. lol. Most of us are here to learn :)

Kimmy I find it easy to keep carbs under 30g. One way is not to eat any of them.lol. But I've managed doing so before by eating low carb veggies. The general rule is that veggies that grow above the ground are lower in carbs than those that grow underground. For my 7 day reboot I'm going to try to eat without any veggies at all which is something like the induction phase of the Atkins Diet.

The only veggies I really eat at the moment is cauliflower lol... i try stay away from any veggies growing underground. I will be watching your diet plan and see if I can adjust my veggies, who knows it might help me alot. I will go have a look at the induction phase of the Atkins Diet to.

FitMusa try to do it as a 4:3. Even if you mess up, keep doing it and it will give you great results.
