7 Weeks on Keto/Atkinson diet and had no energy. Had to sleep in my lunch hour everyday to make it through the rest of the day. Falling asleep on the couch after 5 mins. Always so damn tired. I stopped the diet so that my stomach does run anymore. Surely Keto flu doesn't last that long. The dietitian I was at wasn't very supportive. 2 Months later, eating normal but still very tired. Is there a pill for this😭

Keto is not for everyone. I start to crash seriously after one week, have never pushed for long enough to cause more serious harm so can't say how long it will take to recover. I hope for your sake that you recover soon.

I also struggled with Keto, tried it for about 8 weeks and my energy was constantly low - I knew I needed to try something else but wasn't too sure where to go from Keto. I follow an account on Instagram called BetterwithBalance and it's really changed my perspective on weight loss and she's provided me with loads of tips that have helped so much, it might be worthwhile checking out if you feel that Keto just isn't for you. Unfortunately, weight loss isn't a one size fits all and hey, if Keto isn't for you that's perfectly ok, you just need to experiment until you find what works for you, wishing you all the luck!😊

Ritalin helps for tiredness and gives you endless energy. Your GP can prescribe it if you ask.

Hey I tried keto before and I realised it’s very difficult to stick to, the lack of carbs leave you feeling down and tired all the time and even if you eat them just a lil, you’ll gain back everything (carbs don’t really work with high fat diets) I’d recommend trying to eat as much meat as you gain to try gain your energy back, but 8 weeks is already such a feat

Instead of doing a "diet" why not make it a healthy lifestyle and then once a week if you want a piece of cake you can eat it. I had a friend on Keto and she lost a shiteload of weight but while we were all having fun and eating whatever she had like 3 strawberries for example :( I don't know if her weight has stayed off as I haven't seen her in a long time

@JLO1705 what are the side effects to Ritalin? Is it was helps you fast track your current results? And can you really just ask a dr to prescript it to you?

It is possible your body has just been through a lot with keto, and I remember you were having those injections, using the other weight loss tablets etc etc- I personally do keto and it’s worked for me for 4 years, but I do know also our bodies are different, and our bodies can only take so much. Many of us here have overworked, undereaten and even misused our bodies to some degree. It could just be your body is showing signs of strain. Maybe even a time period of just maintaining and focusing on your health and rest and vitamins etc would be good for you❤️

Hi Smithbianke - I've taken it on and off for years because I have ADHD. Initially when you start it, you'll completely lose your appetite so it does aid weightloss to a degree. The side-effects are different for individuals. In my last job quite a number of people had their GP prescribe it to them for anything from helping them study better to combatting fatigue. Although it is a schedule 6 drug, it doesn't have long-term effects or changes to brain chemistry like antidepressents do. Good luck!

As helpful as Ritalin can be for loss of appetite, I wouldn’t recommend it in the slightest, when I was on it not only did I feel sick all the time because I wasn’t eating enough in the mornings but I was also dehydrated from not drinking nearly enough water. I took it for hdhd mainly and it heavily affected my mood, although I didn’t personally feel it, many people would tell me that I look so much more serious and was more snappy and quick tempered while on it. It can especially cause sleeplessness in the majority of users which it why it is usually prescribed with melatonin.

My son uses it and I can agree- the side effects are no joke.
