I have been trying to lose weight since I was very young. I have memories of my parents putting pressure on me about it and being teased about my weight since I was maybe 7 years old. I was a normal sized child until I had my tonsils removed and had glandular fever or something similar (vague memories) when I was 6. Within a few months after that the weight gain started abs so began the 28 year battle I am still in today. I was medicated for a thyroid problem in my childhood for a few years. I was a plump teen until about 16 when I started crash dieting. I loved the control and I was the classic person to develop an eating disorder being the oldest child, perfectionist and in a dis functional family environment. I managed to shed major weight and ended up close to half the size I am now. I maintained that for a year and then began to gain weight regardless of my eating or exercise schedule and picked up 36kgs in a year before being rediagnosed with Hashimotos disease and hypothyroidism. Since then I’m able to lose a few kgs then gain them again and go round and round.

Since 2019 as my children are getting older and I have some time for myself I am finding out what works for my body. I eat gluten free, milk free/limited dairy, very low carb but not officially keto because that would be lower protein and I am for about 28-35% protein. This feels like it’s finally working for me.

My highest weight ever is 112.5kgs
My lowest weight is 60.5kgs

I am aiming now for about 88 but more than that to find some kind of food freedom. And learn to enjoy moving my body 🙂
