Thyroid peeps

Hi guys. I need some wisdom. Those of you with thyroid issues, what do you do to lose weight and still have energy?

Any recommendations are welcome!
Thank you

What works for me. I know we are all different but I have had thyroid disease since 19- gained 36kgs in 10 months before diagnosis. I am now 34. Work really really hard No sugar no milk- limited cheese Strictly Gluten free No cheat days. Low carb/keto - some people say keto is bad for thyroid but it works for me. They say this because keto can make your thyroid hormone levels decrease in clinical studies but we take hormone in tablets so to me it’s a moot point) But high protein- protein helps me. I aim for over 100g a day Take my meds every day ( I take Euthyrox and Tertroxin) Accept my weight loss is not linear (like this week I picked up a kg even though I stuck to plan 100% and it doesn’t shift away- I just have to work harder) Weight train and walk 3-4x a week Not intermittent fast too often (once a week fasting or skipping breakfast)- if I IF it goes well for 3-4 months then I crash) Not too much caffeine(I have two cups a day) Not too many fake sugars no artificial sweeteners. Cold showers now and again I’ve been doing this for 3 years now. Finally lost weight over that time after being obese for years and years.

I was diagnosed with Hashimito's in 2010. The single biggest impact was going 100% gluten free. Do not touch anything with gluten ever. The benefits only start showing after a few months of strict adherence. Gluten free is like pregnancy - you either are or you aren't. There are no half measures. I still struggled, despite being active. Then I cut back on the heavy weights and high intensity stuff. That has also been a game changer. Low to moderate intensity is the way to go. With thyroid issues pushing too hard results in no recovery which leads to pure exhaustion and injury. Cut back on all processed foods and caffeine.

I dont restrict at all. I just make sure i stay in weekly (not daily) deficit. I weight train with a little cardio. Drink meds (euthyrox) first thing in the morning.
