Maybe you should take a break and come back when you are ready to track your calories as accurately as you can and stick to your daily/weekly goals. Consistency, not perfection, is the key. You need a kitchen scale and the right mind set. I've been where you are - just wanting to give up, but as I keep saying to myself and others - with even the smallest changes you make - your future self will thank you! Someone also reminded me the other day that the time will pass anyway - it all just depends on how you let it pass - doing nothing - or doing something however small each day to get to a healthier you. If you feel that all your efforts during these months is for nothing then you might just need to rethink some things. Just a quick look at your food diary says to me that you're perhaps not tracking accurately and that is the first hurdle. If you know exactly what you're eating then you can adjust from there. If you're not tracking accurately you just don't know exactly how much you're consuming and it's just harder overall to work out what to adjust. Or it could be something simple like drinking enough water or getting enough sleep. But I wish you all the best whatever you do and we'll be here when you get back. Stay well!

Great advice from Nikina70, if you haven’t already, also look into finding out if you have insulin resistance. Or some underlining health issue that is causing you to not lose weight with just counting calories. If you can sort out the health issue. Then you might see that you might have to cut out certain food groups for a while until your body has healed. Most people with insulin resistance have a hard time losing weight and don’t even drop weight through fasting only after fasting (intermittent fasting with a low carb or keto diet) for 3-6 months do they start seeing results because by then the insulin resistance has started to reverse. Maybe try focusing on your health, than a number on the scale. Focus on how you feel when choosing healthier options to sugary high processed foods. It won’t be easy at first, but with time, good habits form and you will be looking back and saying it was so worth it. Hope you will be back soon xx

Hope you will be back when you are ready. For me I had to look at sugar in all forms (fruit, processed carbs etc) as my body just can't process it. It makes my physically ill as well as gain weight, its like overload for my body. So keto seems to work for me. I don't find it difficult to stick to as I am never hungry due to the high levels of healthy fats. Perhaps something to look into and insulin resistance may definitely be a cause.

Hi K, i also only lost 3.4kgs from Jan to now and i have insulin resistance. I actually cried yesterday morning because its so frustrating but i decided to take a break till Monday and carry on. I realised even though im not dropping on the scale my skin is glowing, i have more energy to play with my kids, i lost 15cms of my waist, my back rolls have decreased from 3 to 1! my butt looks amazing from all the squatting😛 so i refuse to give up...i think we owe it to ourselves not to give up...it is going to take longer but its going to be worth it...😉💜

🥺 have you tried going to a doctor and ruling out any health related problems like thyroid, sugar levels, hormones or even vitamin deficiencies? I also lose weight really slowly so while I do get on the scale I use the way I feel in clothes or whether I’m huffing and puffing going up stairs as a guide. When I look back at photos I weightless 70 and thought I was huge but for my body type I was actually skinny...while 70 for someone else may make them look round... we are different but in this together so hang in there you’ve got this..

Hi you 🥰 you’re doing great. Just had a look at your food journal and I have to agree with Nikina just because of my experience. I see that you use the ‘cup’ or ‘tablespoon’ measurement a lot.. I used to use these too BUT when I actually started weighing my food in grams, you see how off the cup and tbsp measurement is. If you can invest in a scale (they’re around 100 bucks), you might be able to track easier. I also found that you enter the spar wraps and patties into your app at the default weights .. While they say that one fish finger stick is 37kcal, when you weigh it, it’s often more than that, same with wraps and patties and things like that. A tablespoon of Mayo for instance, I used to judge it with my eyes and then when I actually started weighing it, realized that in my tbsp, I’d often have 25-30 g on that spoon. It almost doubled my calories. Also, if you don’t choose the cooked versions, you do need to add oils and things like that onto your app. Seems like a headache but is essential. I really don’t want to see you leave. But sometimes you need a mental break to come back stronger. Hope these tips help and that you decide to give it a try 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Please don't give up now. You know how to lose weight, maybe address why you are putting some back. Emotional or comfort eating is something so many of us and it sabotages us. I went for help 18 months ago and I can't sing the praises enough. I have the tools now to navigate those emotions. Whatever you decide I wish you the best of luck, and remember you have a very caring community here who has your back 🦋🌸🦋

@Nikina, such wise words! I've also looked at your diary now, and see some possible issues with calculations. Weighing your food is critical. Irrespective, if you're done for now, take a break and breathe. FS will be here for you <3

Try not to look at what the scale is saying rather use the tape measure. I haven't lost much on the scale but have lost a lot in cm. Since Jan I have lost 10cm just around my belly. I definitely look slimmer even though the scale is saying otherwise. Sometimes I dont log everyday but I definitely watch what I'm eating. All the best.

Dont give up , try the low carb diet and use the home work out app I lost 10kg since new year’s

Dont give up you will gain back what you have lost! I vote for a blood test, check your sugar levels and perhaps cut back on the sugary fruit, check your thyroid. Drink 3 litres of water and definitely up your calories from the 1200 you posted earlier. So many things you can try before giving up. Try the 28 day diet for a month. Try Dukan diet. Research and see what will work for you. Definitely get a food scale. Everything I eat does on the scale and on the app before it goes into to my body. Try and plan and log all your meals for the day before you start the day. And definitely walk every day, or exercise every day for 30 minutes or more. Side note how are the rest of you guys seeing what she eats? @nikina PC and not on phone?

please don't give up , take a break , nothing That is good for us comes easy

I second you CapeTownHealthy, lots of awesome suggestions. If I hadn't gone for blood work I would never have known I was carb sensitive. I'm 52 and I would definitely have had IR by now and in the 90kg range or more. I topped out at 81kg in 2011 and since going low carb my whole life changed. People say this lifestyle is not sustainable, well I know first hand it is. You can still have carby stuff (but in moderation) and yes thyroid very important too. Blood type diet is baloney. Your insulin and hormones are way more important markers of health.

Holy cow! I just signed up for some brutal honesty. I’ve got some inches I just can’t seem to shed, and so when I entered my breakfast numbers, it was like hahaha no wonder. I’ve been lying to myself about the actual intake. Not the items, but the quants. This is like a grand reveal! Actually scary. And K, your post about maybe leaving just motivated me to measure carefully, and to drop my self deception. Thank you

@Thilesha how are you able to see her food journal?
11 Mar 21 by member: Taryn S.
Hi Taryn. You can only view someone’s food journal on the web version, not on the mobile app.

Ohh that's super cool. I didn't know! Thanks for sharing 🌸
