Personally prefer Tofu to Macon... we are trying out alternatives to give my husband a protein option low in saturated fat because he has cholesterol problems.

We got ours from Woolworths. Just be sure to get the right one. I used firm tofu for this recipe. Also replaced the maple syrup with honey.

I've used silken tofu, dipped in egg/flour and fried until crispy for stir fry before and it's lovely.
