** HOW TO APPROACH DAILY WEIGH-INS **

A simple reminder that you need to consume 3500 calories BEYOND what you burn to acquire a pound of body fat.

So don't beat yourself up over daily weight fluctuations. Most - if not all of it is NOT fat in most cases 👌🏻

Here's the reality:

Most days, our bodies perform the way we'd expect, but the body will do what it wants and there's nothing you can do to control how it reacts ALL the time.

Too much water? Too little? How much sodium did you consume? Fat? Carbs? Worked out too hard? Didn't work out? Haven't pooped in a bit? Were you perfectly accurate with logging at that restaurant??
So many things can shift scale weight...

All we can do is sow the seed, provide fertile soil, and water - the plant grows on its own. Just watch and wait as it develops. You can't rush it and expect it to turn out healthy.

It's NOT a "STRUGGLE"; it's a "PROCESS" that takes time, so have patience.

Relax. Just eat right, move and repeat.

Enjoy the ride and keep your foot on the accelerator and you will move forward! Don't get discouraged - it takes awhile to do this right, but keep at it and you WILL get there in time!👍🏻

Exactly. Even if you gorge one day, it's unlikely that you gained a full pound of actual fat even if the scale shows 10 pounds. We are 70% water and we can hold a lot of extra water weight plus food weight. Great post Chris!

Truly it is all about the trend over time and not the day to day fluctuations. That is why I find record keeping to be grounding and helpful in general when moving through this process.

No matter how many times you, me and many others have posted that concept— and it is beyond me why so many people do not get it. DAY TO DAY WEIGHT FLUCTUATIONS ARE MEANINGLESS!! Salt, water and shit. Follow the trend line

I just wanted to- didn't really go as planned... but got to about 2000 calories. Pretty average for me except the calories came from pizza instead of egg beaters and protein shakes. Maybe one day I won't feel like overeating and certainly I won't make myself do it just to do it- which is why I stopped today. I know that there are a couple days a month where I seem to want to eat all day and it helps me to just allow it rather than plan it on a day that I am not really overly hungry. No matter how well I am doing- there are times I really like eating to beyond full... and I'm not afraid to admit it regardless if it's healthful. Guess I just don't care. ;)

If I were to eat to overfull I would throw up. maybe I’m lucky. I cannot tolerate that stuffed feeling. It is just horrible.

Not weighing in is best for me. Being able to use FS to balance my diet and makes sure I'm eating consciously and getting enough nutrients and not empty calories is important for me. I love FS. It points me in the right direction and keeps me present with food. I actually use it to eat more---not more calories but more veggies, when I notice I'm slacking off on nutrients and variety. Also for me, I'm trying to replace fat with muscle so it may be best for the scale to go down slowly. Anyway consider whether not weighing in can be a strategy, at least not every day.
