Ieksie's Journal, 28 Mar 19

I will never get used to the fact that fasting is such an amazing tool. Last night we had burger king for dinner & even though I ate like a piggy, my weight is still the same as it was Monday. I'm happy about that, because today I'm back to my normal routine; having healthy food tonight & we'll see what happens tomorrow!

Happy Thursday everyone!

In the beginning I also thought I would really struggle, but I have found that it is mind over matter. On week days I eat only once a day (dinner), which I keep fairly healthy (keto/low carb), calories always between 1500 - 1800. On weekends I do IF, I have lunch & dinner, lunch is usually only proteins (eggs & meat: minute steaks/bacon) & then dinner over weekends would be a bit more relaxed - then I would have anything I feel like.

P.S: I don't count calories on weekends.

ye.. counting calories is a good thing when you start with this journey. Just upto the point where you are knowledgeable of howmuch calories is a piece of chicken, or a hand full of rice, or potato's etc.. (do that for a few months) . Once you know what is what. Stop the counting, then it should all come natural. As you know what portion size you can eat for a Lunch and howmuch supper. Not to overstuff yourself but not to feel hungry. At least you can then do a proper gage of howmuch your taking in.

@Belinda ... Fasting is a practice... it's something that you get better at doing over time. 16:8 is a good way to start. Especially of you just skip breakfast... It took me about a month to get fully into it, by adding an hour every day, it's only hard the first week and your body quickly adapts. Water is your best friend 🍶

Ye IF really works. burns a lot of extra fats etc.. Drink a lot of water yes. otherwise you'll be hungry all the time and possibly faint. So drink up.

I doubt if you will faint, unless you have underlying health issues... I used to be the "hangry" type, but when I started fasting I NEVER felt like I was gonna faint. Your mind is a very powerful thing.
