Day 3: I fasted for 21 hours today. Jeez 24 hours was difficult. I will try for 24 hours again tomorrow. Keeping my calories below 700, am supposed to consume 1800 calories.

If you experience great results e.g. losing weight-(hypothetical question)-what would you ascribe it to: Calorie deficit or fasting? (I know it goes hand in hand because you dont consume all of your daily cals in one sitting after a fast...it would be difficult to choose between 1&2.. or should I rather focus on other health benefits of fasting than asking such a silly question?😐

Staanmyby you need to decide why you doing it. Personally I think once I have my weight under control then it will result in health benefits. IF is the tool that works best for me compared to everything else I have tried.

@Staanmyby, I think it's a mixture of the two. Calorie deficit and IF. I have a 14 months old and crazy worl schedule so no time to exercise. Calories deficit will assist in losing weight.

ye... there are lots of diets out there. and pills and gyms. Unfortunately.. the biggest "gainz" is made in the kitchen. Eating less still works the best. IF is just the way of timing it in such a way that you can still eat but not for extended periods.. and not too many times in one day. Some people prefer to split their portions into 3-5 small "snack meals" it helps so that they don't feel hungry. Intermittent fasting just makes you not eat for 14-18 hours burning a lot of calories because your body has no other fuel to burn. Then just a quick hours or two of eating the 1500 to 1800calories so keep you going.

In the end everything comes down to calories. If you aren't in a defecit you won't lose fat. IF and keto are just ways to get into a defecit.

I.F. and keto is not just about a calorie deficit. The host of health benefits are huge.

I'm referring specifically to fat loss. If you aren't in a defecit you won't lose fat even if you're doing IF or keto.
