I've decided to switch to SSN Performance Whey instead of the USN Hardcore Whey GH that I previously mentioned that I'd want to switch to.

The nutritional info per serving for the USN Hardcore Whey GH is :
26g Protein, 3.7g Carbs, 2.3g Fat and 140 Calories

The nutritional info per serving for the SSN Peformance Whey is :
20.5g Protein, 5g Carbs, 4.5g Fat and 115.5 Calories

The USN was cheaper in price than the SSN.
The USN was higher in protein, lower in carbs and lower in fat than the SSN.
The USN was higher in calories than the SSN.

What made me choose the SSN over the USN ?
Well USN Hardcore GH uses only 43% Whey protein in their product and other 57% of protein comes from soy protein isolate and milk protein isolate.

Soy protein is known to have an estrogenic effect which means it causes you to create more estrogen and this is not something I want to happen to me as it would cause fat loss to slow down.

SSN is using only Whey Protein Concentrate in their product.

also check the size of the serving because sumtimes they mislead customers by having a bigger serving size therefore compare the protein ratios when the serving sizes are equal

I agree Ibiza. I always check the serving size and the quantity of servings per container quantity. The USN Hardcore Whey GH is a 33g serving and has a total of 66 servings per 2kg container. The SSN Performance Whey is 30g per serving and has a total of 60 servings per 1.8kg container. The major factor that I considered was the type of protein used and quantity of whey.

I always try to check the sugar content. Cutting out sugar is the key i believe.

I paid R556 for this container but I see Makro has a special and selling it for R400. Use Google to find pricing online.

Guys are you using the shakes as meal replacement or to supplement the proteins

Tsholofelo a meal replacement shake is high in carbs and a protein shake is low in carb but high in protein therefore they are not the same. I only consume a protein shake on days that I have a workout at the gym and I drink it immediately after my workout because that is the time that sore muscles will absorb the protein best. I prefer hitting my protein targets with real food but I have found that protein shakes help alot with muscle recovery and I am less sore the next day from a workout compared to not having a protein shake after a workout.

I just noticed that my container of SSN is actually 1.6kg and not 1.8kg so it means I get 53 servings per container instead of 60 as previously calculated. It's common practice for companies to reduce their product quantity instead of raising prices when costs go up.

Tsholofelo, go for real food - 6 meals a day an 2-3 shakes. It sounds like a lot but if you lift like a boss your appetite will increase. Remember, a protein shake is just a supplement. Real foods the real deal. Go for stuff like Ostrich, chicken, Fish, Steak and lost of veggies.

Okay guys now I know. Did not know why you guys drink the shakes. I am enlightened
