Happy Sunday FS friends

So John's last test the eBUS is now done. Biopsies and images taken. Results should be in by May 9th.

Today I mowed the lawn. Had to as it was getting long with the cool weather and ton of rain. Part tractor mow, part push mow, part weightlifting as the tractor got stuck in the mud. Certain that my orthopaedic surgeon would not approve as the limit is 50lbs with a prosthetic hip, but sometimes you do what you have to do.

Off to the Casino to see a Simon and Garfunkel tribute this afternoon thanks to my friend who keeps getting free tickets.

Been good on the calorie containment front this week. Have discovered a love for pomelos thanks to a picture posted by another user on FS. Had never heard of them before but have discovered that the fruit is not as acidic as grapefruit and not as sweet as an orange. That it's a workout to actually get at the fruit (at least with these ruby red ones) makes it a perfect evening snack whilst watching TV.

And so it goes.

Over and out

Hope all turns out well with the testing. Why did your doc say 50 pound limit on the hip? My surgeon never mentioned a weight limit just doesnt want me to run or give it a pounding movement. I leg press 200 pounds with both legs and 100 single leg press and have had no issues so im just curious about that. Summers coming!!!! So more yard work for sure.

Have not seen pomelos here. Sending a prayer for John. And for you - wish you did not have to mow.

Hey YOH, I've seen several sites that also mention the limitation of 50lbs. They emphasized this to me as I was relatively young when the hip was done (57) and likely because I had fractured the posterior wall of the acetabulum at age 56 that had to be banded back together. If I put too much force through the prosthesis it will wear more quickly requiring another THR. Since we can only have this procedure done twice in our lifetimes, and my hope is at minimum to get the normal wear and tear use of 20 years from this one I protect it (except for today as I believe the lawn tractor weighed more than the 50lbs

I have my annual follow up with him in the next couple of months. My left side needs to b replaced we are hoping it will go for a few more years. 2 years ago he said i had 1-2 years best case but im doing great and i have actually surprised him (90 pound weight loss didnt hurt). So i will definitely talk to him about it. Nothing was fractured in my hip prior to replacement, rather i was in end stages of osteoarthritis, marrow edema, cyst on hip and born with hip dysplasia (which i didnt know but explains a lot). Curious to see what he says. I did have a complete and THR tho complete with robotic assist. So fancy. I was 58 3/4 when had surgery.
