Asarver's Journal, 03 Apr 22

woo, I managed to run 13 miles yesterday for the first time since my half over a month ago. And of course I run slower when I am not "racing" so I got a good 11 min / mi pacing 😆 I could tell by mile 10 that it was a bad idea to run 13 miles but I spent want to have to call my hubby to come pick me up. One of the benefits (downfalls?) of having sidewalks everywhere is when I make a 13 mile loop around the city I have no choice but to finish it. 😂

By the time I got home, it hurt to stand, and it was a painful 5 minutes of changing out of sweaty clothes and making a protein shake. Thankfully after a good 20 min stretching session things were back to normal. Don't let anyone tell you stretching is not important! I'd be limping around the house right now if it weren't. 😂😂

I signed up for a half on May 1 to run with a fellow coach for volunteering I do! I'm pretty excited about it. I don't know too many people around here still, so I'm glad she asked if I wanted to run with her. The next one after that is with my SIL in Napa! 😁

Have a great Sunday folks!

Brilliant! It's been about 4 years since I ran a half, and I am in no shape to run it now. Agree to stretching. Actually, I stretch all day long, just whenever I think about it, but definitely before I get out of bed in the a.m. and before I go to sleep at night. Less chance of pulling a muscle if I'm always limber.

JustBananas, that's great! Being limber definitely helps with injuries. Probably why kids never get hurt 😆

Get it, GIRL!! Maybe look into creatine, electrolytes, and bcaa's for recovery.
