Chia seeds - GREAT source of protein, healthy fat, fibre and potassium! This, together with a tbsp of flaxseed and a tbsp of sesame seeds goes in 1 smoothie a day or over a salad. I am not a huge fan of meat, but when my hubby is home that is all he eats, haha. So he bought a lovely roast chicken and I took the breast without skin.

I always have sesame and pumpkin seeds on hand but ive never explored the chia territory. This just may be my new salad crunch factor.

Yes Countess, I also only discovered chia recently when studying "Superfoods". Have a look at my meal tonight - pumpkin and sesame :-). I like the chia seeds in a shake too but not nowadays when I have this super-duper-bulletproof-protein-wonderwoman-shake that already gets flaxseed and cayenne pepper in it. Today I used 1 tsp of cinnamon in it instead of the cayenne pepper - YUM!

chia seeds in yoghurt, left overnight in the fridge, is a great and very filling breakfast. love your salad

Hi Helldenn, thanks for that tip! I know Chia seeds are great for making healthy deserts as well, but have not tried it yet. I am currently not having any dairy other than feta cheese (trying out different things), but can believe it works great in yoghurt. I use them in my smoothies and let it stand for a few minutes for that extra fibre too. 😉

Sorry, I just realised I have butter almost every day... so it's really just milk, yoghurt and "normal cheese" I don't eat for the minute. Also, I have stopped eating all sugar, refined foods, cured meats, pork, and shellfish. Really just trying to eat cleaner for now and rely on whole foods, as near as possible to rheir natural form. But that's just me - different things for different folks! 🙂
