So I bought goat meat ... some chops and ribs. Today I braaied the ribs and spiced like I would normally do with mutton ribs ... salt, pepper and coriander.

This was my 1st attempt at goat meat. Wonderfully surprised ... taste is close to mutton and I would say a little bit more tough than mutton.

I had 190 g and the nutritional values are as follows:

Energy: 270kcal
Protein: 51.28g OR 80%
Fat: 5.74g OR 20%
Carbohydrates: 0 OR 0%

I am a meat eater and the portion was more than enough for me. This is good news if you follow a low fat and low calorie diet ... big volume of food for low calories and fat! The only downside is:
1. It is about double the price of mutton
2. Scarce to get hold of in the Western Cape

Next weekend I am doing the chops ... and ... the fat content is even lower!

Tomorrow is the big weighing in for me ... I deliberately made sure not to eat too heavy and no eating after 20h00 ... hahaha

I love goat meat but I've never seen it in the supermarkets here in SA. Did you buy from the butchery or supermarket? Please let me know
