In pain ........... lose weight which then triggers a gout attack 🤦🏽‍♂️

I've been a gout suffer for the past 10 years.. It's seriously no joke, extremely painful. I used to get gout attacks every 2 weeks. I was weighing in at 113 kg. Since Jan i haven't had an attack due to the following... 1) I cut red meat out my of my diet, stopped drinking alcohol, cut out sugar and stick to 100g of chicken or fish (NOT shell fish) per day. I eat loads of veg and salad. Also walking has been key, I walk 10km per day. Due to this lifestyle change, I have lost 16kg and now weigh 97kg. Start by chucking all sauces from your fridge which all contain loads of sugar. Sugar is a biggie - stay away. If you want a treat, have a couple of block of 85% or above dark chocolate. Good luck - YOU can do it.

You guys have been awesome and very encouraging the cortison influence has affected me and weight over the last two days but all in the direction of creating a healthy lifestyle before and condition forces you to

doeboy32 if you do Keto ..1 Ketobody(beta-hydroxybutyrate) in Liver when in ketosis, may alleviate urate crystal induced gout. Keto increases BHB and actually protects against gout flare ups. Dr Berg says use Lemon juice as well...hope you use Allupirinol and Colchicine. Cutting carbs will promote gout flares in the beginning...I do hope you can get rid of this terrible monster! Carbs apparently and various other foods/meds/metabolic syndromes/kidney function are to blame for excess uric acid. Lifestyle change can hopefully take gout away!

my partner also suffers from gout, he recently joined me in my weight loss journey but we are getting different instructions from the doctors on the foods he's supposed to avoid...
