GabLynn's Journal, 22 Jul 15

I have fallen off the bandwagon these last 3 months and gained all my weight back! When I got on the scale today and saw that I knew I had to reengage with fat secret to get the pounds off again! Looking back at what has caused this I see several contributing factors:
1. The heat in the last 6 weeks has made working out outside difficult
2. A bagel shop opened up a mile from the house and I have become a regular
3. Lack of conscientiousness of what goes in my mouth - both quality & quantity
4. Not weighing in at least twice a week

Today is a new day where I will start my journey back to health and weight loss. I am going to make an effort to do some sort of exercise (inside or outside) each and every day - no matter the weather!

Most of us including me have been there. Start logging your food, make sure your plan is one you can live with for life, if not tweak it as you go to make it a life plan not a diet.

Good for you for getting back on track. You can get right back into the swing of this. You have already identified some of your challenges. What's your plan to avoid these going forward?

Izzy - great question and one I am still trying to figure out all the answers to! Suggestions are always welcome. 1. I am trying to find a yoga video or YouTube that I can do at home. My daughter is 2 so I think she might enjoy doing these things with me as well. 2. The bagel shop is only a mile from the house so I am going to start walking there instead of being lazy and driving. My daughter and I only go there on Saturdays and it is great to sit & talk with other people. We live in a small town so getting to know our neighbors is good. 3. I am more conscience of what I am eating when I am logging food in with FS. I have also starting asking myself with each bite - am I hungry or just eating because there is food on my plate? Hopefully this will help. 4. While I try not to obsess about the number on the scale it is a good check point for me. When I was doing well with my diet I posted post-its on my bathroom mirror with my weight & date. It was a great visual of the progress I was making. I need to get back to that or find another way to remind myself - maybe post something in the kitchen as well to give me pause when searching for a snack or preparing dinner!

There are a ton of yoga videos on youtube. I haven't done much yoga, just mostly the breathing so have none to recommend. I use some youtube videos for other types of exercise.
