DAZEY_iz_Well's Journal, 29 Oct 23

life was better with Vyvanse, my binging habits are arising. it's been 1 month off ADHD meds and I....just can't function... I didn't expect so much of a difference. Now I see how much it helped me...I kept telling them over and over to give me space anδ time to make breakfast-but no one listens -the kids overwhelmed me so much I dropped my collagen powder and it spilled everywhere. THEN they leave the kitchen and leave me alone so there's me, crying on the floor. I went back to bed for 2 hours and here I am.

So sorry to hear that. When I’m feeling down, I find that a walk outside does wonders. Hope you feel better soon 🤞

Yikes. Can you not go back on the meds?

I'll second Morticia, and ask why did you discontinue them? I know that for me, medication for bipolar was critical for me not just for short-term functioning, but for long-term healing. Hugs, gal. Hope you find a way through 🤗❤️🙏

Being human is not a crime. It is ok to be out of sorts. Life isn't about showing as perfection. It is about being real. Life is about loving yourself even if you have a 'bad' moment, hour, day, month, year(s). I've experienced those times, in every range. You are. You are real. Take care of you and your needs and then you will be able to be there for the little ones.

Scotty thanks, I did end up taking the kids trunk or treating and they had fun. Tish- I wanted a break from Vyvanse to see if my symptoms were from meds or something else. I was having severe wrist pain being one of them. Since taking break my wrists are back to normal.

Writing-i may go back to Vyvanse but stick to the lower dose instead. Or try Adderall instead. This isn't ideal at all....

Unity thanks for such wise words. My mom- being a narcissist- expected perfection and competition. I was expected to "one up" my cousin and wound be shamed for not trying hard enough. I have no desire to strive for perfection, just make that daily 1% improvement to well being. From not being able to walk to jogging slowly.. improvements have been made....but my brain needs to get the memo that uh.....playing Xbox or binge watching Netflix while crocheting wont help my waist line..📝 😂

Dazey-neither Netflix nor Xbox will do anything for anyone’s mental health. If possible, get those kids outside and let them do kid things— you too. Sunshine and fresh air work wonders.

Do your kids have the same affliction you do— they may be fighting the same problems you are.

Dazey how much exercise do you get in a day? Like actually exercise just dedicated to yourself not housework or running after the kids? I have a really good friend who is very bi-polar. I can tell when she’s tapering herself off her meds or stopped completely. She has a really tough time then. 10 years ago she was my workout partner and we were at the gym about 90 minutes a day when we went together. 30 min straight legit cardio (stair climber, stair master, recumbent bike) and an hour lifting weights. She always did way better with her mental health during the periods we worked out. She’s having a rough time right now and has for quite a while but she doesnt give herself any exercise at all. She’s not overweight, never has been so its not an issue of appearance just the endorphins that get released via exercise seemed to be so beneficial to her.

Dazey, I have been looking for a natural alternative to replace my Thyroid med (Levoxyl is the med). You might want to search the med and at least try a natural alternative? Next I am trying Tulsi Tea. I will only try one thing at a time to eliminate what works and what doesn't help. I am not a child expert, but I know how stressful parenting can be. I raised six and that does not include two stepdaughters. One thing I know that changed my children's behavior was different for each. With my youngest son, 37 now, I took away his video games. With my youngest daughter that would not be a motivation. She was the center of attention and couldn't stand being ignored, so in my living room there is a basement door. I sat her in the chair facing the basement and she HATED that. Just small things that worked and are different for each kid. I call it "the hit you where you live" technique lol. Good luck 🙂💖

DAZEY_iz_Well, that must have been unbelievably stressful. It feels so much better to accept yourself and to look at yourself with compassion and patience. You can be the mother you always wanted to yourself. You can't control her or turn back time but you absolutely can be aware of your inner critic and gently remind her that she can go now.💙

Dazey, yes I was feeling depressed but I came out of it. I was just frustrated about the changes that keep happening with my surgery....I hope your day got better 🩷

So sorry Dazey. I have been known to sit on the floor in the middle of whatever mess I made and just have a good cry. I hope you can find a balance in your meds that works for you. (((HUGS))).

Yoh- lately non!! Thanks for sharing this! I will use treadmill 1 hr 2x a week. And those days I do feel tremendously better!! Pulling out of a slump is super hard, doing the thing despite the slump is true dedication.

rcguenth- that is true! Vyvamind is the natural alternative to Vyvanse. It's 30$ a bottle. My autistic son yes, video games hurt when I say no more for the day. My younger one is mostly well behaved, much like your daughter, hates being ignored. I think it has something to do with their individual love languages. Older sons is receiving gifts, and quality time for my youngest.
