Just keep in mind, exercise is a small percentage on weight loss. And if you are gyming, you gain muscle weight as well.

Agree with Kitty... You can't outrun a bad diet, if you exercise you need to eat within your RDI too for it to be successful. And as mentioned, muscle weighs more than fat.

What is OMAD?

One meal a day - Its not really a formal diet or anything. You just eat only one meal a day that is in your calorie count for the day. For me it's easier to avoid food than stress about eating the right food.

I'm there too... Seems like the more effort I put into running, I just gain weight. I'm hoping it's building muscles like everyone says...

Make sure you eating enough as the body stores food if it feels it’s starving maybe check your recommended calories for weight loss again on the app and stick to that. 💥

Please ask you Doc to check your thyroid. An underactive thyroid can make your weight gain a nightmare.

Also one meal a day is dangerous because it will put your body in starvation mode and it might hold back on the fat you want to lose.

The thing is you will be gaining weight if you’re doing weight training, you need enough to supply your body with fuel to be able to gym in the first place so eating too little isn’t the best idea A caloric deficit of 500 cals to what you’re burning will be beneficial but starving yourself won’t because overtraining isn’t going to have any kind of difference

You are gaining muscle if you're training. Keep up and it will equlize

I’m having the same issue for 2 months now

This happened to me last year august. I was running 5km everyday for a month but i gained weight. Everybody kept saying it is muscle, i beg to differ. I tried again this month to run 5km almost daily and i lost weight. The only difference is, this time i started tracking calories and limiting carbs to 50g. When you start tracking calories you start realising how much calories are in things like peanuts, avocado, cheese, dry-wors and these would be our normal go-to “healthy snack”. 50g of peanuts already has close to 300kcal, 50g of cheddar cheese has around 200kcal, half an avocado around 160kcal, droewors is the worst with 450kcal for 100g. Imagine you have your three full meals @ 500-600kcal each. But you snack on peanuts and droewors, you are already over the 2000 limit. You run 5km and burn 350-400 kcal… which is just the dry wors. 😣

Definitely not starving myself. Sticking to my calories and eating healthy food to get all my nutrients in. Just doing it for a week to change things up. I can't gym this week so thought it's good timing while I won't be doing intense training. I've been on the health train for so long now just need a bit of change. Thanks everyone for the support and feedback.

Have you been doing all sorts of FAD diets for a long time? If so you'll have to eat more, so that you get your metabolism fixed 🥰

Hi Laura. if weight is not changing although you have been putting in all the effort....for a female it usually is a health concern associated with the functioning of the Thyroid. Consider seeing a specialist if you don't see any change. I am saying this from personal experience and my professional opinion. (Biochemist)

Please remember that muscle weighs more than fat. From your profile pic i deduce that you are rather lean so it should be easy to push the scale up but for the right reason this time! :) If you train so much you have to eat at least 1g protein per lb of bodyweight. More muscle needs more fuel - dont be afraid to eat more - you might just be surprised. Hope you see a change soon!

I found this happened to me recently when I started a higher intensity workout programme. How one of the instructors at my gym explained it is that your body is going into survival mode. It will try and hold on to the weight but if you are consistent you will get past that threshold and the fat will start coming off.
