It has been 36 days since my last update. And that is mostly because I haven been stuck between 65.4 and 65kg.

As a result I have been googling reasons fot weight loss stalls. I found a very helpful article ( https://www.secondnature.io/guides/mind/motivation/weight-loss-plateaus-explained ).

This article basically stated that a plateau happens for two reasons:
a) You have reached a set point weight
b) External factors (like eating too much, muscle loss, dehydration, hormone imbalance).

I think my plateau is a mix of both. In my youth there was about a 6 year period where I weighed between 64 and 65kgs without much effort. So I guess this is a natural weight for my body. However, honestly I have slipped back into some unhealthy habits, like not drinking enough water and snacking too much.

According to the article to break a plateau you must continue with healthy habits.
I thus have re-assessed my habits and here is the action plan:
1. Measure portion sizes (I have been eye-balling and subconsciously I have been eating more and mote 😁). Aim for a 500 cal deficit.
2. 16:8 IF (I do this already)
3. Focus more on protein and veggies, reduce carb and sugar intake (I have been having too many treats). Meal prep
4. Drink atleast 1.5l of water
5. Exercise 4 days a week for an hour (this is my normal). Focus on body weight exercise and hiit
6. Take vitamins ( I do this as per doctor's orders)
7. Try my best to get 8 hours of sleep
8. Do something relaxing at least once a week for an hour - like taking a long bath and watching a movie
9. Skincare routine to continue as per normal
10. If I stick to this for the month of May- I will reward myself with a mini makeover in the form of a haircut and a new outfit (my current clothes are too big - even though the scale is stuck, I have lost some cm 😉)

The goals above might seem like a lot but I have done most of these from November 2021. I just slacked off a bit during April. However, after reading that article, I feel less guilty about it, as I now realize that my mind and body needed a break to re balance.

In othere news: My plans above might be slightly derailed and some point, as hubby and I are trying for a baby 🤫. I test every week, the moment I get a positive result, I will stop restricting and fasting and just focus on eating healthy. However, the selfish side of me hopes that I lose a little more before then, but whatever happens, happens. Either way, I am happy and grateful.

For those who read this far. Thank you! Have a lovely day.
