Cenada's Journal, 10 Dec 21

This is what happens when you have a full week of emotional eating. I gained 5,1kg in 1 weeks time! It's amazing how quickly one can pick up weight, but it takes forever to loose it. I really need something else to do with all this negative energy when I'm feeling overwhelmed and stressed out. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

I second the spinning suggestion! Try a class. You won't be thinking about anything 😂 And afterwards you'll feel great. If you dont, then try keeping a journal to write down your thoughts, worries, whatever. It often makes me feel much better and "lighter". Drawing, painting or anything "artistic" is also therapeutic. Even if you're not artistic, it doesn't matter. Go for a nice long relaxing walk. Spending some quiet time with yourself outdoors also helps clear the mind and makes you appreciate the small things in life that are right. That said, try focus and think of all the good in your life instead of the bad.

I also go and have a nice long nap when life feels too overwhelming. If you have the the time, a nap can help you "reset" and have a break from overwhelming feelings.

I feel your pain. I got down to 63 and with the stress of the last 2 weeks, long hours, poor eating I am back up at 65.5. Shattered.

Most of it will be water weight. Get back at it and be consistent

currently studying and everytime I have a test or assignment due I eat so blinding I find chocolate wrappers I don't remember eating. this was a year ago. today however I make sure to eat a high protein & fat breakfast as it satisfies the carving hormones, then throughout the day I'll snack on popcorn with salt & butter, carrots & mayo, or apples with peanut butter. yes all these snacks are slightly higher in calories than the usual straight cut but if you struggle with emotional eating being kind to yourself is your number 1 priority. choosing healthier options is the easiest route. knowing fat satisfies craving and protein keeps you feeling fuller. (this is just my metabolism type). when I do this I find I'm less focused on food throughout the day and without trying stay under my RDI. this is in conjunction with understanding how my body reacts to stress and managing my mind with walking in nature and BREATHING.
