I know a loss, is a loss, is not a gain,
but I am very disappointed. Disappointed because I am giving it my all.
I know the first few weeks I have to figure out what works and what doesn't, but doesn't ease the disappointment though :( I literally want to cry!

I am going to change my weigh in day to Thursday mornings, as Saturday is my carb day.

Thinking of going vegan again, but is that really sustainable in reality.
I LOVE CHEESE!!!!

Need to re-group and decide what I am going to do next.
Full week, full day classes this week, meaning I don't really make time to eat. Something I need to work on this week; pre-packing meals.

Exercise also becomes a challenge when I have a full week of class, as I am knackered at night and find it challenging to motivate myself to even take a shower, I am THAT tired.

ALL I WANT IS 1KG A WEEK! That is really not too much to want, is it?

:(

When I was younger and dieting, I could pull off 2 - 2.5kg losses per week. To my disappointment now. I can only manage 1kg and if I’m lucky 1.5kgs. Sometimes I get a surprise and I’ve lost 2kgs for the week. Unfortunately with age. The weight comes off a little slower and not only that. First your body needs to heal. After the healing is done. You will see the fat melt and the scale numbers drop before your eyes. Just see it as the healing period now. Eat healthy and feel good. Know that you are healing damage and weight gain that took years to pile on. It’s going to take time to reverse the damage. Breath and meditate. De-stress. The longer it takes to lose the weight. A better chance of it staying off. You won’t be so quick to go back to old eating habits because you worked too damn hard to get healthy. So don’t be discouraged. Some take weeks to drop the same weight you just dropped this week. Keep going, one day at a time💖

I have nothing against vegans, vegetarians, lol there are now strange diets out there. Being an omnivore is natural to us. We need meat for the protein, vitamin B12 etc etc etc. supplements get expensive. The Venus fly trap is carnivorous and it’s a plant... can you tell it to go against it’s nature and not eat a living thing? 😂 it will die. So why go against nature? Eat healthy, with time you will feel and look great 😊

Try IF. Maybe you are insulin resistant. I struggled for years to loose even a kg a month untill i started IF. Now I can fast longer and fat is comming off. I lost 3 kg this month so far. Its not dangerouse like uninformed people might tell you. Watch Dr Milny Pelz on youtube or Dr Fung. These are docters not Jack on the street wanting to be diatritionsm

Thanx Honey & Pasco for the encouraging words. I actually unintentionally fast when I have full classes. So IF has been part of my lifestyle unknowingly... lol! Yesterday for example, yesterday back-to-back classes from 9:30am to 5pm, the last thing I think of is eating. Luckily I cant over eat after a fast either, because I am so used to not eating, that I cant eat a lot at a time. So IF is something I can do effortlessly. :)

I cannot even begin to tell you how angry I am at myself for getting this fat! It was sooooo self inflicted, just not giving a shit what I put in my mouth. So you are right Pasco, I WILL NEVER EVER EVER go back there, because I am struggling my ass of to get rid of it now.

I did Vegan for 6 weeks because of my cholesterol. I was told that I was just going to be found dead in my bed if I dont get my cholesterol under control I cried all the way from the doctor and just didnt even want to eat after that news. My son is Vegan, so I tried. I lost 8kg in 6 weeks. It is not something I would realistically be able to do on the long run, because I love dairy too much. Maybe I should just do it 2 weeks on, two weeks off, just to get rid of the extra weight?

It’s a combination of sugar, refined carbs and fats that cause bad cholesterol. Our bodies need cholesterol to function. You get good cholesterol and bad cholesterol. Stay away from margarines and deep fried foods in vegetable oils as those go rancid in high heat. You can eat chicken and fish instead of red meat. And limit the fats you eat. But healthy fats are good for the skin. The bad cholesterol should go down. Exercise and losing weight will naturally bring down the cholesterol. And avoid cheese and nuts for now. Then go check your blood work after a month and go from there. Going vegan for a few months won’t be a bad thing, But try doing something that is sustainable for you in the long run so you can stick to it for life.

Scheduled detailed cholesterol test next week Friday.

PASCO, that is the big concern, on my last test my HDL was almost non-existent. My triglycerides off the charts! So not only do I have to get LDL lower, but I have to get my HDL count higher.

Have you tried the Keto diet? 5% carbs(goods carbs from fruit and veggies), 75% fats and 20% protein. You can eat cheese on Keto.

I am afraid of doing Keto because I suffer from very high cholesterol. (on medication) I am really trying to find something I can sustain in the long run.

I have it too, but I’ve read studies that it could help with that. To be absolutely sure I think you should consult with your doctor and do research. Good luck!

You are doing a great job! Don’t chop and change your “diet” because your progress on the scale isn’t as fast as you would like. You need to follow a lifestyle (not diet) that’s sustainable, and one that fits in with YOUR life.... one that you can see yourself following FOREVER! I know this is the hardest pill to swallow, but PLEASE, Please don’t let just the number on the scale be your only measure of progress. That number can, and most certainly WILL fluctuate DAILY! Sooooo many factors make that scale go up & down like a yo-yo! Sleep (lack thereof), stress, hormones, gosh, you may even just need a big 💩!!! They all effect the scale!🤪🙈😂 Take pics and measurements, and just use that number as ONE small factor! Think of it this way, when last did someone come up to you and say: “how much do you weigh”?! People don’t ask that! They say say: “wow, you’re looking good, have you lost weight?!”. We are all (myself included) guilty of letting that scale dictate our worth, but it’s something we have to stop obsessing over! Focus on changing your habits, and take it one day, one meal at a time... Soon alllll those meals, and days will add up to HUGE progress. And don’t beat yourself up if you can’t get that workout in... yes, obviously don’t slack because you just don’t feel like it. But if you just don’t have the time, then that’s also ok... just make sure your nutrition is on track, because it really is 80% nutrition 20% training. Chin up hun, YOU’VE GOT THIS! ✌🏻💗🐝

LMAO! Thanx @Bernise 💗💗💗 And I did >>> you may even just need a big 💩!! bwhahahahahaha!!! My medicaation reaks havoc on my digestive system. After that I weighed to see if there would be a difference and my oh, my.... 101.7! The number I actually wanted to see this morning! So I did lose my 1kg this week. I know I am extremely hard on myself in all aspects of my life and that is not always a positive attribute to have. Thank God for all the support I have been getting on FS. It really means everything to me at this point in time. xxxxxxxxxx

For me restricting food is never enough to lose the weight, moderately exercising (30-60 minutes a day, or the 10000 steps) is an essential part of it as well It helps to get the metabolism working again. As I see it, a body is used to a certain food intake. Once a person restricts the food, the body believes it is starving, and slows or even will stop the metabolism. Hence, the scale numbers will not move down.
