Yes if you are only one or two people or if you just love fries. It's basically an oven, but with a much shorter heat up period and auto off timer. I stopped using my oven when I bought one :) The Russel Hobbs Purifry is quite nice

Take a look on Takealot. There are many to choose from. It's worth reading through reviews. Some air fryers are quite small so you have make sure you get the right size according to the amount of people you have to cook for.
But I love air fried food! Chicken pieces, roast veg, chips... Makes things nice and crispy without added fat! And if you cook meat, the fats drip out of the basket and into the bottom tray - so less fat on food!
