@Unicorn, how is your body feeling? I hope you are recovering well after your 10k run.

Thanks!! 💚 @Fatgirlslim - Yesterday it was actually really sore all over... today I’m just feeling really stiff. I wish I gave more thought and planned for the aftermath more than I did. I didn’t expect it to be SO different than my usual (shorter) runs. But keeping warm, resting and sleeping a lot to nurture it back to normal 🤗

I had a feeling you would be sore and stiff @Unicorn. It’s a good feeling. No pain no gain 💪🏼 Recover soon💚

That is phenomenal and you should be incredibly proud. Honestly I think the overall mental benefits to being able to USE your body is one of the biggest things for me - sometimes more profound than looking good in an outfit ❤️ well done

i am so impressed and inspired by your post. I am extremely overweight and recently decided to do something about it. I took a walk yesterday (the first in a veeeeeeery long time) and i was so out of breath and could barely keep going for 20 minutes. I intend to keep it up though...and hopefully one day I will have a post like yours to share. Thanks for sharing your phenomenal achievement

Ncebakazi. Welcome to the group. Take your journey slowly. Spend time learning how to build new habits and don't try do too much at once. You're on a wonderful platform where there is genuine support and no judgements. All the best on your journey.

Ncebakazi - thank you for your kind words. I think it's a great first step that you have taken, and it seems like your mind is in the right place. I couldn't agree more with Shereen - it is so important to build sustainable habits. Take it slow and make small changes. Walking is such a great step in the right direction. Maybe try to remove or reduce some sugar as start, or have a smaller meal (portion control). Whatever your journey and the lifestyle changes you are about to make - it's going to be life-changing! And there are so many people here to support you in that journey! All the best! x

Salt and Pepper - I get so excited whenever I see your name in the feed or on one of my posts <3 I am so sorry that you have struggled with your mindset lately. You have done SO great previously, and I think you can easily get your mindset right again. I think the key is to not be radical and make those small changes every day. Make a good choice with every meal - even if it's just one. I do hope I see some weigh-ins soon - please let me know if you want to talk (even if it's just for motivation). x
