I have always hated exercising. To me it’s filled with so many horrible memories from exercise abuse as a child from my dad to my own exercise obsessions during years of eating disorder and self imposed starvation. Exercise was always just a punishment.
Over the years I’ve tried bits of exercise here and there but it’s never been sustained because it was always a mental battle.
I had the most success in 2019+2020 with an app called Aweso.Me. Which is free and just has exercises on and you copy the lady and i used to mute it so I couldn’t hear the voice because then it again feels like I’m being punished or talked down on. But it was actually getting to the point where I wanted something else and one day I went for a walk and I so enjoyed it but it’s hard for me to go out for walks as I’ve got four children!! Randomly I looked up an exercise walking video on YouTube and bang I found what I needed!!

The lady is called Leslie Sansone and her workouts are challenging but fun all based just on walking and the best part is she is so encouraging she says well done for showing up and then I feel like she is talking just to me and she says something encouraging the whole way through!! .I have exercise now for three months consistently from 6 minute videos now today I did 45 minutes and I ever enjoyed it!!

Thank you for sharing your story. I hope you feel empowered that you finally found something that suits you and I hope it grows on from there... I've checked her out, she is a cutey LOL. Thank you Simmone :) it felt good to be able to write it down actually. I started the year at 104,5 and was 100,6 this week so call that 4kgs lost in just under 3 months. I do lose weight extremely slowly no matter what so l am happy with this progress. I am doing Lesley 3-4x a week (walking or sometimes her weights/resistance training) combined with a low carb/keto diet. I have eaten that way for 2,5 years but haven’t been losing weight for that whole time! I feel much more fit I noticed the other day when walking out with my family I used to get tired now I don’t anymore
