I got told my jeans were falling off of me so I used my lunch break to buy a new pair of jeans for an event on the weekend and WOW.. I feel so happy. I find it so hard to let go of the old stuff because I’m scared I might gain it all back, is it just me?

I totally got RID of 3/4 of my wardrobe at the beginning of the year (the remaining 1/4 I kept was my smaller pre-baby clothes) and started from scratch, so although I don't have as many clothes as I'd like right now, I'm so happy I did 🤪

We went on a short holiday in Jan and I needed summer clothes. I took a few items to the tailors to make smaller as I was too afraid to spend money on new clothes. Been there before. I also told to tailor to keep a bit of space in the measurement as I am also afraid of gaining back. But most of the shorts he made smaller are now a bit too big. I get you! I said this is the last time, I am never going back up. Have been maintaining my current weight range now from Nov. Even though I am not at goal weight I feel pretty good. Exercising and keeping healthy and keeping my head straight on all my food issues.

WaistAway87 - I have anxiety about giving my clothes away.. I just feel that if I gain, I’ll be left without anything that fits me. I still use all of my big clothes around the house too and sometimes out, I think it’s comfort.. and insecurity..

zazu2 - yes, it feels so good. My ultimate goal would be a size 34, but I think that is me being too optimistic. The milkshake that I post is Mad Max, I thought it was available everywhere? It isn’t on the app, but I absolutely love them! You get the mini ones too, and those are just over 100kcal and are a good treat. Will post all the nutritional information when I pop another one open 👀

CTH- thank you for your comment. I can’t really alter my jeans because they’ve been stretched out at the thighs after years of obesity .. so now all elasticity has been lost in those areas and they look saggy and scruffy.. HOWEVER, I still use all my old tshirts and tops and jackets.. also really hesitant about using money on new stuff.. much rather prefer to spend it on food 🤪 I think I’ve bought two new jeans, a few skirts and some tshirts .. but now I steer clear from shops.. I feel like if I spend money on new clothes, I won’t want them to go to waste and that might deter any progress..

Took me a year to give away the old stuff when I first lost weight. Marie Kondo your wardrobe! I promise you won’t regret it.

Pollylock1 — omg, love her and follow her on Instagram! I think I will have to, just so much easier said than done .. fear of failure is real, especially when it comes to weight loss. I’ve never been a ‘small’ person, I think the last time I was a size 36, I was in grade 10 😞 so being big is pretty much all I’ve known in my adult life.. scary to give away everything especially becos I feel convinced that this might not be permanent.

I kept one pair of fat pants as a reminder. Keeping your whole wardrobe will give you further anxiety in the long run. It’s really freeing. Thank the clothes and then say goodbye, it’s liberating! Do it in steps if need be.
