Has any one cooked or used turnips? Hubby and I are trying to use more seasonal veggies & turnips is now seasonal.

You can make a raw vegetable salad with grated onion, green apple, turnip, carrot and purple cabbage. Add a few walnuts, make a olive oil & white vinegar dressing with lotss of fresh herbs of your choice to drizzle over... OR roasted turnips with olive oil, garlic and rosemary. Cut into wedges and you will be amazed how they have a look of feel of potatoe wedgies. Delish!

I use turnips often in soup... even made a veggie stir fry. used them like carrots.

Leksie I am also trying out more seasonal veggies; so I have made turnip wedges grilled in the oven with coconut oil & mixed herbs ; also used it soups as a thickening agent grated ; used in a curry as a potato substitute too

I've seen this nice soup making machine the other day. Looked like a big kettle. But it basically blends and cooks the "soup" in cycles. Wasn't too pricey , R800 I think. but then you gotta love very fine soup a lot.
