Good morning FS friends

Much better day today. This codependent thing is going to be a tough one to shake. I am by nature a rescuer (dog rescue for 18 years), attempts at people rescue for most of my life...whether it was the sad lonely kid in the playground who needed befirending, the youngsters at work who needed mentoring, or the addicts that I attracted into my personal life over and over and over again.

Much as I tried to help, and probably felt I added value thus felt sort of better about myself for a short while, at the end of the day this did not serve me well. I had the right to a healthy relationship, yet tended to chose ones that were not good for my mental health. Dogs I'm good at. People not so much. The person I really need to rescue is myself and thankfully the stars aligned and am on the path one step at a time.

Mind boggling to me that the decision to finally lose weight is translating into a review of so many aspects of my life. Admittedly I'm struggling with the whole me, me, me of it all. Seems so selfish. And yet, I only have one go round on this planet and would like for it to be a happy, productive experience for what remains.

Made an awsome dinner last night. Pork tenderloin stuffed with mushrooms, celery garlic and onion. Quite enjoyed it actually.

The sick man remains in bed. Hopefully he'll get better soon, go back to work and back to his own home. I freely admit I need my space. In the meanwhile....pitter patter and into the yard I go to plant the spring bulbs that just arrived.

Over and out
