Good morning FS friends,

It is interesting how shrinking in size and gaining in physical strength has changed other aspects of my life. For some reason I have become more brave.

A few weeks ago, I decided I needed new windshield wiper blades. Without fail, wiper blades seem to degrade at exactly eye level, and was tired of ducking lower or higher in the drivers seat to see where I was going in a torrential downpour. So I bought the new blades, and after much ado (the clasps that are plastic on the old blades had degraded so used a pair of needle nosed pliers to break them down and take the old blades off. Took an hour and a half of fiddling, but it was done.

A few days ago the rear hatch lift supports decided to give way. I'd open the hatch to take plants out of the trunk and the hatch would close (on my head of course). Figuring I'd had some success with the wiper blades, went onto Amazon and got the replacement parts for the hatch. They arrived. So yesterday gathered all the tools that the instructions said I needed and headed off to do the job. The instructions weren't clear so referred to YouTube. Turns out I didn't need all those tools, just a flat head screwdiver. Pop off the clip, top and bottom, take off the lift, pop on the new one. Repeat on the other side. 5 minutes. Done. No more hatch whacking my head. Off to the nursery to get more end of season shrubs today!

I would never have thought that the self confidence derived through improved physical wellbeing would translate to other parts of my life. But so it has.
