Happy Sunday FS friends

So the visitors have gone. It was an enlightening visit. Spending time with a 13, 11 and 2yo (all female) was quite interesting. The 2yo is at the don't say no stage. No=meltdown/scream. (don't go through that door and mess with my dogs = no) Cleans the wax right out of one's ears.

The 13yo is at the typical moody teenager stage who at the moment has decided she's a they/them. I tried to adapt but wasn't particularly successful as I'd ask for the "ladies" help with table setting/meal tasks now and again, which was generally met with "the look". I apologised every misspeak, and luckly by the last day of their stay, they had stopped wearing the pronoun button on their shirt. I did not grow up with plural people. Bi, gay straight sure, but plural hasn't registered in my non adaptive brain cells yet. The 11yo is still at the delightful age where she wanted to learn things and do things. Together we made strawberry sorbet.
We went on a field trip to the Falls whilst the men went fishing in the new/old boat. Saw and did some things that I've wanted to do and it was nice to have the company. The Generating station, the Tunnel to the Falls, the Niagara's Fury snow and rain filled movie, the Incline railway. Had a picnic at Knightsbridge park. As a family, they finished the Niagara Parks pass adventures the following day with the Whirlpool Aero Car, White Water Walk and Butterfly Conservatory. Good thing too, I was pooched.
Thank the heavens that I'm sixty lbs lighter than earlier this year, as I spent so much time walking or upright that by Day three I woke up feeling like my feet were broken (flat feet, orthotics, bum hip converged)
Did ok on the food front, actually ate less than normal as I'd budgeted for S'mores (one) but as we sat by the fire one night, the heavens opened so no S'mores got crafted. Someday I'll try one. Will be heavy on fruit this coming week, as other than clementines, no other fruit was eaten. Good thing I love watermelon, plums, peaches and need to hydrate. So the weirdness you might see in my food diary in the days to come is just leftovers and not a failure of imagination. Yesterday was a rest day as it was back to just me and my furbabies (who are also tired) Today, yardwork. Cooler weather & rain = weed explosion. Pitter patter.
Over and out.
