Annisworkingonit's Journal, 19 May 23

Have missed a few gym days this past week. With the cool weather and the rain the weeds were getting out of control. Much as I prefer to start earlier in the year, we just hadn't had 10 consecutive days of 10 degree weather which the pollinators need to come out of hibernation. Ah well. If not weight work, a lot of movement with walking and bending.

Was a mindful girl yesterday. John and I were out and about running some errands. He was hungry, so while I was in the garden centre, he went to the fry truck and grabbed a burger and fries. I had a bite of the burger (no bun), tried 2 french fries. The first was for the OMG that smells good and I really really want it. Meh. Had another one. Double Meh. Just not worth the calories. Waited to get home to have a mixed salad with 10 small shrimp (because I stuck to my guns, a treat was in order). This was a major hurdle for me as he has a fast metabolism, is 6'6" and is forever hungry. For the past 18 years I've been eating alongside him as eating is a social thing I suppose. Didn't do my body any good though.

So it goes. Not expecting fantabulous losses on weigh in day but on the other hand, even with him visiting I've not gone off the rails. Fingers crossed.

Am packing a snack pack for tonight as I volunteer in a long term care home and there is a patient without family nearing end of life. Palliative care is a passion of mine and I find it to be a privilege to be part of a persons journey to their next life.
