I went out to a pancake breakfast this morning. It was so good. Our firemen sure can cook. Got home and a friend had put a bag of 10 medium size peaches on my porch with a note saying YOU BETTER EAT THESE TODAY.. I’m still full from breakfast but will soldier on with homegrown Georgia peaches. And Carmel pecan icecream tonight. Portion controlled—- of course. Maybe not tonight.

The peaches were so very good. I had just 1/3 of a cup of ice cream but a lot of peaches

Can I tell you that those firehouse pancake breakfasts are one of my absolute favorite memories as a child? some of the places we lived in were remote and the firehouse events were just the best thing ever to a kid. Fire trucks, firemen, other kids, and controlled mayhem and usually with a parade of sorts somewhere nearby. Thank you for reminding me of them.

Peel ripe peaches, slice them and put them in a freezer bag so you can enjoy them during winter. They freeze really well. I freeze pounds of them every year

I have multiple ice cream makers but they all have canisters that have to be frozen for 24 hours. One of these days I am going to breakdown and buy a countertop one with a freeze feature— but then I would probably be making peach ice cream every day. That wouldn’t contribute to my weight maintenance at all. Hehehe
