My dear neighbor who was diagnosed with an aggressive Lymphoma about 5 weeks ago has entered into hospice. He started this journey at 160 lb. And is now 102 pounds. He has had two chemo treatments and it has been decided his body will not survive the treatment. He is comfortable making this decision. He is cared about by so many people—- me included. I feel he has chosen wisely..

It’s good that he will be getting round the clock care now with a full staff. I hope his wife has also embraced his decision. So hard.

He has some pain, but not horrible. It’s worse at night but part of that is he is thinking about the future and not sleeping well so focuses on the pain. With the blessing of his oncologist I bought CBD gummies for him and it has helped him with the anxiety so he is sleeping much better and has denied much discomfort. He does not want to take pain meds because he wants to be awake and alert and enjoy when his kids, grandkids, siblings and old friends will come to visit from all over the world. I will be cooking up desserts like crazy to feed the masses for the next month or so.
