Interesting. I had never heard of LPR before. I hope they can find something that works for you.

Thank you both! At least no sore throat this morning, so I'm counting that as a win! 😆

I was diagnosed last Fall with severe gastroparesis & esophageal dysphagia and advised to go to low-residue diet. It has made a big difference in all swallowing & digestive issues. Might be worth it for you to look it up. There are several good reputable medical articles & pdf versions of what you can eat and what foods to avoid. Hope you find some relief. Just Google "low-residue diet". Good luck!

Thanks! I'll take a look, it's been hard to find "diet" related information that's not just for making money 😬😬

For me, getting to the diagnosis of silent reflux was slow. Multiple doctors, tests all negative or irrelevant to my issues of dysphagia and choking. Allergist finally hit it. Raised head of bed about 7 inches (blocks) and omeprazole 40 mg (20 no effect). Been a couple of years and symptom-free. No diet restrictions, including coffee. Good luck.

Thanks kptres! I had seen my pcp, then the allergist, and it was the ear nose throat dr who caught it. I'm on 40mg esomeprazole now, with 20mg famotadine and it's not helping past the initial decline of symptoms (I was having spasms during some really bad coughs). I've been modifying my diet trying to find out particular causes because I don't want be to be on the ppis especially since they aren't helping. :-( Idk why I didn't raise my bed sooner!! It's the third night so I really hope it helps!

Hope so. In the beginning I raised it up even more and it took a little time before it worked. Only problem is when you slide down to the foot of the bed overnight.😂

I also have LPR. Raising the bed was super helpful for me. We actually sprang for the adjustable bed. Worth the money in my case.

Oh wow, I'm glad the bed worked for you too Danana! Which adjustable bed did you get? My husband got one for his acid reflux, but he didn't like it (I just have wood under mine right now). You guys are giving me hope

The bed I got is called Rize. Another thing that help with LPR was eliminating gluten.(Waaaa!) You might consider doing an elimination diet to see if any foods are troublesome for you. I remember I would eat bread to settle my reflux. Who knew I was only making it worse? I hope you can identify your triggers. I still cough daily, but much less.

Thanks! I'm actively doing an elimination diet right now, but I've included the more common reflux triggers. I didn't think about gluten! I'll keep logging my reactions and see if that's one of the things I should take out!
