No katsolo. It's just an app that has a soothing woman's voice telling me to run or walk. 🙂 Probably as it gets harder for me, I won't find her voice nearly as sweet. So I just used this stretch of a trail we have near our home that's perfect and pretty and flat and paved. I'm supposed to make today a rest day but I'm not sore but I'll just lift instead and try to stick to the rules. I am a rule follower...usually. I just really want to be a runner one day. It said something about being able to run without stopping by August. That sounds ridiculously long but I'll see if I need to pick it up a notch. Supposedly it adjusts for you as you improve but I find that doubtful for some reason. Sorry- I woke up and I guess I'm pretty chatty at 2:30 a.m.

I was fortunate enough to be involved in training my young friend, “The General”, to become a marathon runner. There truly is a physiological reason for the process. The coach who guided us along really knew what he was doing. .she is 16 now and has completed 8 marathons. because of her age it has been hard to find meets that would allow her to run.

a rest day is subjective. go lift because it brings you joy. we ran around three blocks last night, but it was to get around this stupid woman and her two off leash dogs while she was chatting on the phone pushing her baby and then one of her dogs wanted to chase us and I didn't want it to escalate.

Good luck with the C25K. I’ve just completed it & it it worked for me. It feels good to run for 30 minutes in one go.

piggy winkle, Thanks! I am glad to know that it works! I am excited to run for 30 minutes straight, too!

I’m excited for your 5k journey! I’m still not a runner, but I run more now than before. My body starts aching when I run more than a mile and it takes a while to recover. My training for a 5k had a breakthrough when I was able to run 2 miles. I went directly from 1 to 2. Just felt like doing it that day. You’ll get there, just remember, “slow and steady” in a soothing voice 😀
