Didn't realize how much carb cauliflower contains, so I will definitely be watching my portions and not see it as "free food" anymore. The calories are low, but the carbs are a little high.

cauli... not one of my favourites. my dad burnt it once when I was a child... and that smell never left me lol. I have had cauli based pizza and cauli rice, and they are not bad alternatives.

I have had a cauli based quiche and it was soooo yummy! I love cauli & broccoli salad! Have you had that?

Yes. My ma-in-law makes a pretty good one for me whenever we visit because she knows we don't (I don't) make cauli at home lol.

@cocalola I've heard the rule of thumb with carbs is to stay 7g of carbs per 100grams. Cauliflower is only 5grams per 100grams so you are quite safe. It's the one thing all the banting gurus recommended.

hi Lisa. I used to do weight watchers and on that program many veggies and salad items were considered zero point or free food items. not sure if that's the same experience as others. still to this day, I don't necessarily count every veggie - certainly not cucumber and lettuce lol.

I consider things with a very low calorie value as free food. But in my case I really do have to watch my carb intake, so a large bowl of cauli is not as guilt free as I though.... Eish!
