I've realised that I may never reach a stage in my life where I'm able to stop tracking what I eat and the activities I do throughout the day.
I work from home and sit behind my computer for most of the day. I fail to plan my meals so I end up not eating and then grabbing anything that's available when I suddenly realise at 2 pm that I haven't eaten.
My whole family could do with better eating habits.
Having an analytical brain I realised my best options for success are to plan, prepare and track what I eat in advance. Track this info on FatSecret so I have clear analytics that will show my brain that there's progress when I get discouraged.
So this is me, accepting the fact that my body, brain and hormones don't tell me when to stop eating and even if I'm hungry or not. So I will tell my body what's good for it untill I reach my goal of being a healthy weight. Being able to participate in physical activity without feeling that I might die from exertion.
Most of all, my goal is to be an example to my children that goals can be attained with hard work. Even painful ones such as changing your lifestyle for better health.
I've chosen to keep my journey public, as I need the accountability.
Good luck to all the other wonderful people here who made the choice to do something good for themselves.
