IF is just a fancy term for what many people do on a daily basis. You have breakfast— six to eight hours later you eat lunch, six to eight hours later you have dinner and that’s it until breakfast about 8-10 hour after that. It is the incessant snacking that is a big problem.

If I eat out and have a 1500 calorie meal... I may get cravings later b/c meal wasn't nutrient dense and over eat.

Eating the way I do has made my focus keeping my weight up. I can loose 1/2 pound a day just going about my daily routine even if I am eating close to my RDI. My body uses the food I feed it— it does not store it.. I know, someone will come on this thread and say something about metabolic ward studies show this or that— who cares, works for me.

You don't get hungry looking at food, smelling food, etc., it makes you want to eat, but that's not really hunger. I could eat all day long, just because I like to eat, and used to do just that and got up over 450 pounds because of it.

Like a car. You don't gas it at certain times of day..it is based on mileage used

I eat my emotions, I know, how emasculated of me, but true, and better to eat a whole damn pizza than choke TF out of whoever made me mad, sad, whatever.

Yea. I don't eat when I am sad but am ravenous when angry

or , you simply delay breakfast for 6 hours after waking.

I used to direct anger by doing something active...so I guess if I eat then I used to burn it. Not so much now..but I am not quick to abger like when younger.

I still have the urge to eat when I'm emotional, but I redirect it to other things. When I'm angry now, I'm just verbally mean to whomever pissed me off.

I have learned over time To not allow things that people do or say to effect how I treat myself. I cannot be manipulated into sabotaging myself in anyway.

Hahaha Phil! Hey, anger is a healthy emotion and should be expressed in a healthy way...which could mean defining your boundaries by not taking BS

I think though some folks will eat a lot/binge then starve themselves setting themselves for a binge.

I was a scrappy gal from Baltimore...it took most of my 20s to understand the notion of responding to things that self sabotage. A lot more centered now and control my own domain.
