Just remember that one day isn’t going to have any real influence on your weight. If you still feel guilty you can always aim for an average over your week. So just like 50calories less per day and it’s already 350 calories down.

Keri diet. I struggled with my weight all my life. I am now the smallest I have ever been in my life. I still get a shock when I see myself in a mirror. All I say is it is worth it. The thing is when you nearly 50 kgs overweight what is 1 or 2 kgs. So you stop fightinyoug. you become depressed. and you eat more. But once

I replace the word word "cheat" with "treat" ... I don't punish myself for needing a break - but when I do, I make sure to track it (all of it) that way I keep myself accountable while making myself more aware and mindful.

I guess the most important thing for me at this stage is having a healthy relationship with food. But the guilt, negativity and depression that I am feeling with one simple cheat meal is a bit worrisome. I just wish there was this off button that I could use that will help me turn off this incessant need of mine to fill negative emotions with food 🤔🤔🤔 Everyday has it’s own battle I guess

Inspiring stories and thoughts being shared. It's a beautiful journey. The destination isn't the important part. The ride along the way is what counts most, in basically everything we tend to experience. Angelique you're on a good foot. There'll be tough days, and there'll be top days. Keep being your own inspiration and your top days will increase that much more each time. Important thing to note about weight is that it's not the scale or number that you see down below. Rather it's how good you feel that counts. So focus on that and eating well. Throw some greens in for good measure every day like kale, lettuce, avo, etc. Reducing carb in take will do wonders. Starting each day with a meal that contains some form of light protein and good fats like coconut oil, eggs and avo will last you til after lunch without craving. Also green tea with honey for the win to burn fat. Congrats on first parkrun.

I ALSO had a "treat" meal, in fact a treat dinner, and was wondering how to recover from the damage. Thanks for the tips, I'm going to make up for it over time. Slowly, slowly CATCH a monkey!

We try for healthier “cheats” for example my boyfriend and I felt for dessert so we bought Paul’s Ice-cream (Health). And even though we felt guilty we didn’t have a reason to feel guilty. Today my boyfriend made me a batch of Keto choc-chip cookie dough. Which tastes AMAZING and is only 74 Cal. As my craving get bad during shark week.

If you’re on Keto, then you’re in luck because there’s a Keto replacement for just about any treat! Fudge, jelly babies (my favorites), cookies you name it! Google and YouTube are full of recipes, sites and videos. Some of my favorite sites for recipes are gnom-gnom.com & FatForWeightLoss.com.au

Oh Wow illness seems to put it all in perspective....you make bargains and promise not to eat anything detrimental to your health. Then you get better and back to your old ways or hopefully a new way with the help of Myfatsecret. The week before last I came down with what is assumed to be a colon infection, then it seemed to go away and then it came back last Tuesday with a vengeance. I was working and I was on the road being in sales, when I arrived home I was literally crippled with pain (left side of colon and my back)...off to the state hospital as not on medical aid. Received good care if a long wait from 4pm to 12am - on two kinds of antibiotics and had an abdominal Xray which was clear. They still don't know what this is. Woke up so ill on Saturday morning with some kind of a virus/cold I can only think I caught it in the waiting room as some people cough and splutter freely without holding a tissue or hand over their mouths...so up today but the pain is coming back. Suspected to be diverticulitis. Does anyone have this and what are your tips for not getting an attack or for getting better? I have tried to eat healthily but that doesn't seem to work - fruit and wholewheat or brown bread seem to cause problems. Just don't know. Trying to get over the viral thing so I can go for the colonoscopy on Friday - they won't do it if you are not well - waited a couple of years for it so kind of really don't want to go and kind of really do. So the day before will be cleaning the bowel. What diet is likely to suit me? I lost couple of kilo's but not sure if mainly due to illness or actual healthy eating - my hubby is cooking up vegetables and lean chicken and oats and so on. But I am in the dark as to what is wrong with my colon. The pain is excruciating - does anyone know this pain? Re feeling guilty about what you ate - my take is just get right back on your plan and be kind to yourself. You slipped up, you went back on the plan - that is all. Just get right back on it. You immediately change things and give yourself hope.

Imogen, have you checked if you are not yeast intolerant? The reason I ask is that if I eat bread or anything yeasty I literally end up on the floor praying for someone to shoot me. Attack last about 30 to 40 minutes then I am fine. For years, doctors told me nothing was wrong, it was only when I started Keto and cut out all carbs, sweets and fruit that my attacks disappeared. I also found on Keto that my energy levels went through the roof, for the first time in decades I woke up feeling energic and even though I was only eating once a day - I was a bundle of energy. Recently I have tried to reintroduce carbs back into my diet, but I am feeling awful - so I have decided to go back to Keto.

Hi Tracy. Very interesting advice and I am definitely going to follow up on it, big thank you - it may well be my problem as I am very prone to fungal infections and bladder infections. X-rays and blood tests come back clear and yet some days the pain pain is so bad. I almost feel embarrassed infront of my family as I up and down healthwise, got to the get to the bottom (Excuse the pun hahaha) of it and sort it out once and for all. Pardon my ignorance but where do I find the Keto diet and exactly what to eat? I can google it but is there somewhere on this site or a particularly reliable site? I am new to the Keto diet and Fatsecret.

Hi Imogen, here is a link to the diet. https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/ketogenic-diet-101. This is where I began. It's been amazing. Lost 43kg since November 2018. Woke up on the 7th November 2018, I was weighing 100kgs - and I am only 5ft 1 and half (at my height you grab every inch). I have only joined fat secret a couple of days ago because I want to maintain my weight. Since I struggled with my weight my whole life, this is the smallest I have ever been, and I never want to gain weight again. As I said I tried to go back to eating normally again, but the pain came back, so I am going back to Keto - for nearly 7 months I was pain free. SO now I am fasting getting myself back into Ketogenesis. My only advice is to try the diet - but I must warn you - you will feel awful for the first couple of days - they call it the keto flu. But stick to the diet for a couple of weeks, and see if it helps.
