Well done Shana! Just be careful with the green tea consumption. 2 to 3 cups a day is safest. Too much green tea can interfere with your body's ability to absorb iron. Don't stress too much about the scale weight, sometimes it will go up even when u get slimmer. Keep track of measurements :) Keep going !

You are welcome Shana. Try skipping breakfast and only consume food after midday. Have your coffee, green tea and water for breakfast as normal but move any solid food to after midday. See if that helps fire up some fat/weight loss. It's a method known as Intermittent Fasting. Google it :D

but Big Boy if she skips brkfst is that not a bad idea as we r encouraged that brkfst is the most important meal of the day? and doesnt our food digest faster b4 midday and slower after? just asking

BuyiThembu that's not true. The whole "breakfast is the most important meal of the day" idea was created by cereal companies who needed people to believe that so they could always sell cereal. I have not come across any research about food digesting faster/slower at before/after midday and the rate of digestion is always dependent on what food was consumed. There's tons of new research showing how skipping breakfast can have major positive impact on one's health. Carte Blanche even did a story about it a few weeks ago.

Initially I tried the skipping breakfast trick it worked for the first week but didn't make much difference in my rate of weigh loss after the 1st week. I'm assuming that the intermittent fasting might have slowed down my metabolism. Now I'm back at eating my breakfasts. Raw oats and double cream yoghurt and I'm losing weight at a good rate.

Slim one cannot judge intermittent fasting by doing it only for a week or even a month. You can actually put on weight while you get slimmer and reduce fat percentage which is why judging progress with the use of a scale is very misleading. It can't slow down metabolism. The foods you eat are also an important aspect. If you ate very carb heavy meals your body will convert these carbs into glycogen and store it for energy use and for every 1 gram of glycogen stored, your body will store 2.7 grams of water. So if you do intermittent fasting of 16 hours no food and 8 hour eating window, you need to see how your body responds and then tweak it to be more effective and this can only happen by experimenting with food and taking time to observe results. Combining Intermittent Fasting with low carb eating is more sensible. Then one can incorporate the 5:2 Fast Diet where one has 2 or more non-consecutive days of maximum 500 calories and then eventually even attempt 0 to 50 calorie fast days. It is very important to take time and not rush for results but one can shorten the time by engaging with those of us on here that has spent years experimenting and trying various methods to achieve results that are sustainable.
