I did but after about a month of terrible eating and very little gym its all back, but looking forward to losing it again. Also looking to hold on to more muscle this time though. So will likely end up using bodyfat rather than weight. What should I aim for to be considered very lean?

Good luck guys you can do it. Consistent efforts and the rest will follow. Average men i.e. non athletes should aim for 18 to 25 body fat percentage. Body mass index charts can be a bit extreme. The weight where you look good naked and feel healthy is in my opinion a better benchmark.

Thank you :) I seem to reveal my abs quite extensively but retain significant fat around love handles causing muffin top. This keeps me very self conscious regarding exposing myself..

Love handles or "muffin top" could be due to unbalanced hormones. Cortisol the stress hormone and insulin the fat storing hormone could be the culprit. Stressed out or depressed people often eat too much carbs so it almost becomes a double whammy. Not saying this applies to you, just putting it out there. Lifting weights, eliminating sugar completely, eating protein at every meal (especially the ones rich in omega 3), and taking time to de-stress just some of the many ways to get your body back in check. Unfortunately FatSecret cuts off links so I cant give you stuff to read, but if you go online there's a mountain of info :) I would also have a look at insulin resistance.
