Yes I'm outta the 300's and in the 200's I'm so happy for that I'm so glad I am under 300 now..
Surgeon appt yesterday went OK he is the new surgeon I was referred to when my surgeon quit last month so I do understand that he wanted to try a cortisone shot first to see if it would help but i had told him I've already had those done and no help with it..Anyway he explained everything very well to me and my hubby he don't want to do a partial knee replacement he wants to do.a full knee replacement only concern for that is I'm only 45yrs old. He said I have bone on bone on one side of my knee and bone spurs and arthritis did that ,then on the other side it has a big bone spur and some arthritis under the knee cap so it's best to replace it all so I don't have to worry about having a revision and full knee replacement later on the full knee replacement will last around 20yrs now they used to say 10-15yrs but now they are seeing them last at least 20and sometime 22yrs. He put notes in my chart that I'm accessible to that said depends on how the shot goes as to the plan of care ...He already told us to try the shot if it doesn't work then he knows what he needs to do meaning he knows surgery is next.. Also he said my knee is in the end stage of degeneration so he knows that I will have to have surgery if shot doesn't help..So far I've had no relief with it..
keep me in your prayers that he will just go ahead and do it here when I go back to him in a month...

Sara you ROCK!!! So very proud of you! You are doing awesome and I am praying that the Docs quit farting around with alternative treatments and get down to the nitty-gritty and replace that knee! Keep rocking it!

Thank you everyone I was overwhelmed by the weight drop and excitement took over this morning when the scale read 298 so many good emotions, I do think that with yesterday I eat higher protein as I had steak for supper something we don't eat much of cause it's so expensive but I got 2packs of steak 10xx a piece had 3 little steaks in it but that's plenty for me and the hubby and then my carb intake yesterday was under 100g and the biggest thing my sodium intake was 2300 lower than the recommendation for intake so all that helped me not hold onto water weight and helped with 2lb loss today I had little bit more in sodium not much but had 148g carbs due to vegetable soup and dang jiffy cornbread mix if I could cut bread products I could probably due better than 150g of carbs a day I'm trying though and I have meatloaf plan for tomm if I'm not snowed in as I need to get a few things to put in it like onion and eggs.. we got 2in today but tonight's gonna feel like windchill of -10 and by 8am windchill will be -15to -20 hopefully I can continue this process of dropping more weight I did 3 sets of 15 reps today with a 10lb kettleball and trying to exercise as well as I can without standing up or walking around alot. Yesterday went to the dollar store and walked around to get some exercise in...

You are doing great! FYI, my mother had both knees replaced (same day!) in her mid 70's and she's still very mobile in her mid 80's. You've got this!

Badjujugirl-did your mom need someone to stay with her after surgery? We have a family member who needs both knees replaced also and were wondering about that

I had a right-side uni-compartment replacement and it bought me a couple years only before I had a revision to total. I had gone bone-on-bone actually 12 years before my left knee total because I was "too young" for a replacement. My rheumatologist went ballistic when I told her why I was limping so much in my initial visit with her. She demanded I be given the replacement. I've had it 25 years now. I do not agree that anyone should have surgery withheld because they are "too young."
